did you ever work out what's causing them?

The servers that 5punk are hosted on are having issues processing all the traffic and cpu minutes they are receiving.
Originally they asked em to investigate what was causing the CPU minutes to be so high, but then after numerour people were havign the same issue, they decided to scrap the limits on "cpu minutes" which aren't mentioned when registering with them, and throw more servers at the customers.

Sites that are receiving lots of issues will be placed/moved onto new servers with dreamhost.

So to sum up, sites like 5punk cause them problems, but rather than get arsey about it, they want to keep their customers, and are addressing the issue, which is a good thing.

The thing is I don't know when it happens, so if you could all reply to this thread when you notice it happening, then that would give me an audit trail of when and at what time it occurs, so I could have a whinge to ask us to be moved onto one of the newer "shineyer" servers.

I don;t think the farts last very long, but it can be a pain in the ass due to your cookies being lost if you are viewing the site whilst it happens.
