How to Build a POS Chain and Other Short Stories

Post by friznit »

Right, here's what I reckon we need. Those of you who are in the know, please check my figures against the POS design sheets, and let me know here of any changes. I have allowed for what we already have (both at the current POS, and what ISS gave us). Prices are all NPC market rates.

In short, we need to spend about 709mill on towers and modules. I've forecasted the next 2 weeks or so, which should leave us 127mill excess whilst maintaining our 300mill emergency buffer, meaning that on balance we need to find 581,312,192. That's actually not too bad at all.

Just dumping some useful links ref POS stuffs here while I work up the details for the weekend:

ISS Thread Red POS Defences - Sensor dampers?

......

I'm also rethinking the defences for the towers in W9. It might be worth looking at less guns in favour of sensor dampeners/shield hardeners. Why?

1. We'd never stand up to a determined dread assault anyway, so...

2. We need to defend against a determined bs anti POS fleet, thusly...

3. Small/Med POS suffer from a short locking range, hence sensor dampeners to horse the sniping bs in close to your 4 x medium guns and cruise missile launcher and...

4. Shield hardeners and ....

5. 48 hours stront to bore them to death.

Got nearly everything bought apart from the Med CT, Moon harvesters and a couple of guns. Crunched some numbers and so far we're gonna come in 90mill under budget, which is nice.

Righty ho. Just to keep everyone info'd. We've got all the bits. Most of the expensive stuffs is in ZX or Marginis already thanks to a combination of Dread runs, freighters, and piggy backing our haulers on ISSN ops. The Large POS in ZX (POS 4) is up and running. The Ferro reaction on the Large Amarr in W9 (POS 3) will run down on Friday morning, which means Friday will be 'the day' to move everything around and set up POS's 1 and 2. We've got 360mill in the wallet (all from loans ofc) but still need to buy the reactions, the second load of Caes Cadmide, and finance the office in ZX. Then we need to get the mirror Large POS up in ZX (POS 5), which was the deal we made with Count to allow us the stay on office purchase fee of 300mill. Good things is, we've got 2x117mill from Ferro still to come, and we'll be making phenolics by Saturday. Keep it up, we'll be rolling in it soon :boogie:

Oh and by means of a 'Well Done' from Count:
[19:01:16] Jarmen Komack (Count's Alt) > nice POS at moon 5 in ZX btw :-D
[19:01:38] Friznit > is that mine? can never remember where I put it
[19:01:48] Roger Albany > yes it is yours
[19:01:51] Friznit > uhuh
[19:01:57] Friznit > thx! :)
[19:02:37] Friznit > hope it's up to the mark
[19:03:01] Jarmen Komack > very, a deathstar
[19:03:06] Friznit > gd gd

Yay Shadow for posting!

Yeah, the corp would really appreciate any support you can give as well. Simple hauling is a good portion of what makes the POS's work, and that requires scouting as well!

Keeping up to date by watching the forums is a big help in itself, so keep up the good work there as well!

Perhaps 5punk could use some help keeping the cans all sorted at all of the POS's, especially if we start producing ammo out there!

261,056,871 is the amount I just spent on fuel. That's a whole month's worth for our POS chain. I'll start shifting it tomorrow but I also want to try and poke some of our freighter contacts to see if they'll take the whole lot to Jarizza or Agil for us. Meanwhile any help I can get hauling would be much appreciated.

Friz,

the fuel is in Maspah now, needing to go to Jarriza or Agil, is this correct?

Sadly not. The fuel is all over Metrop and Heimatar needing to go to Jarriza/Agil depending on where the next freighter run leaves from.

OK, I'm available Monday to do some freight runs. Post a list of the stations where the fuel is (and rough volumes if possible) and I'll try to get some moved. Would be good if we could have a definite destination though (how far is Jarizza from Agil, anyway?)

Interim sitrep...full sitrep to follow usual time at the weekend.

1. Full month of fuel shipped to Marginis and POS's refuelled to stable levels (POS4 was down to 15 hrs :x ) Freight Cost: 60mill for 290km3

2. Working on a new deal with Stins to supply POS fuels at competitive prices down in Marginis (empire+15% or so). This price includes shipping fees and should cut our overall fuel bill a little (at the moment we pay fuel at empire prices plus 25mill per 100km3 of freight which equates to about 25% markup on fuel price).

3. First load of phenolics sold to ISS Heavy Industries at 500ppu. The low price is mostly thanks to the undercutting idiots in Jita at the moment. FYI, Count intends to ship the phenolics to Jita and sell at 510ppu. At the moment his biggest concern is that freighters leaving Marginis/Tycho go back to empire empty which doesn't make economic sense. More on this later.

4. Monthly profits stand to be about 100mill at the mo. We can augment this by selling off some of the simple reactions (keeping a weeks worth as backup). This could bump us back to 400mill per month. Ultimately though, the onus has to be on getting the second POS up in ZX and taking our net profits up to 700mill per month. I'll also be keeping a very close eye on the market index for phenolics.

Outstanding Debts:

Corp Loans - 377mill
Tycho Office - 300mill

A. Liabilities per month:

POS Fuel - 350mill
Fees & Rental - 80mill
Logistics - 50mill
Materiel - 400k

B. Income per month:

Phenolics - 558mill
Simples - 322mill

Total Income over liabilities (B-A) = 400mill

i.e. Month and half to pay off our debts and start making isk proper.

FYI the forcefield at the large POS at V-19 in W9-DID is now open to Alliance members. Stins may request a cyno field there thisavo.
