I installed on a partition, it worked, automatically detected my xp partition, and allows me to boot into both no problems.
Installation took an hour, only needing the user there for the first 5 minutes or so - Personally i feel this is acceptable, will explain my reasoning down there a bit
Basic overview of the install:
Does the usual stuff, but prettier, gets all info needed at the start
Takes about 30 minutes to copy stuff from the dvd at this point, followed by another 15 or so decompressing
At this point it does the installing and updating bit - nearly instant on my system
Coupla restarts
Suddenly, Fista.
Now, i'm sure a lot of you are thinking that an hour-ish windows install is very long. It Is.
However, remember that Fista won't be out for another year or so, at which point it's likely to be on HD-DVD, and on faster machines.
While it might take a while to install, it's really, really stupid to complain because you're effectively installing a new, unoptimised OS onto year-old hardware.
