If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Any special reason why we should bother?

I've heard that beta 2reduces frame rates by about 20%. I doubt Fista will perform that bad when it's released but I don't think it will be worth my time.

Code: Select all

In addition, once you install Windows Fista Beta 2 (or RC1) you cannot roll back to the previous operating system installation
Think I'll give it a miss for now, sounds like more trouble than it's worth

I want to try this but came across the same problem of overloaded server. As it's being discussed on all technology sites (including the BBC's technology section) that's hardly surprising.

Personally I will be testing it on a seperate disk to the one containing XP and even unpluging the XP disk just in case.

I'd do that if I wasn't lazy. I just got done setting up a linux partition and getting all the crap straightened out, so I'm going to just sit back and wait. :bored:

I think I'll wait for some opinions to be floated about before I decide to do anything drastic. But guys, if you do try it, make sure you tell us of your tale!

I'll probably try it tomorrow (to give me chance to download it and post a non-biased opinion on the whole process) including testing with most of the 5punk regular games (possibly even eeeve)

they're a bit shaky atm, use a download manager and keep trying now and then and you should be fine.
