Fw4ppers training
Fw4ppers started off on a good footing, and hasn't been doing as strongly lately. I think part of this is the structured training we provided in the beginning. We helped the little guys start off with things that were just out of their reach, with the boost to reach it and see what it is like. Like all the aspects of the game, the more you try, the more you WANT to try, always tempting you to train for everything. I think that was our biggest strength starting off. We were a team.
So I will be trying to recreate that team environment. Hopefully some of the current Fw4ppers will join in that effort. (As well as some of the graduates!)
Thanks for all of the help recruiting lately guys! As has been said in the past, we get one good for every 5, and that seems to be holding true. Hopefully the training will both raise retention rates and better prepare our members for the rigors that Eve throws their way! (And help them make some ISK!)
So, please let me know what you would like me to do/create for instruction. Instas and their use, skilling up for running missions, basics of combat, and some trading tips are all I've got evemails written about, but I could create more, and also work up some 1-on-1 practices. Some things i'd like to learn about are scanning, more info on mining and roid recovery rates, how marketing affects trading, more knowledge of the POS features and requirements, and if there's more I can do as CEO than give/take away access and such.
Any ideas welcome!

As always I'd caveat this with keeping 0.0 related stuff to 5punkorp. I ran a lesson a while back for near-graduates on 0.0 survival, that I think was well received. This covered scanner use, aligning, safespots etc etc. POS stuff is a little complicated and I think best left till later, and for those who express a real interest in the industrial side of the corp.

My bad! The 0.0 points are things I want to learn more about, not things I think we should instruct on. Sorry for being unclear there. I realize we should keep the learning basic to completely avoid overloading their brains with the vast complexities of Eve. I'm just hoping I don't bore them either, or fail to properly prepare them for survival.
Which brings up a thought, tanking training. They should know more about ship setup and skills to help them keep their ships alive!
Thanks Friz!

Been talking to Dres a bit about FW4PPERS stuff and maybe a FW4PPERS forum might be good. I'd like to be a moderator of it and help out in the stickies for training/progression to 5PUNK. I might even go into recruiting which I swore i would never do again after 6yrs in EQ but I think I might be able to do some good there.
The thing of it is, Wey is only allowed to create so many forums before he has to start deleting old ones, and we've long since reached that point, so to ask for a 3rd eve forum, even with the terrific success we've had over the last year, could well be seen as greedy (a view I'd support narf. We're not exclusivly an eve group). So yes, I support Friz idea of use this forum for all the fw4ppers stuff.MORDETH LESTOK wrote:Been talking to Dres a bit about FW4PPERS stuff and maybe a FW4PPERS forum might be good.
I can easily make a new sticky for fw4pper links if you'd like to start writing stuff up. God knows some of the old how to's could do with being updated/replaced..

Alrighty then...How about atleast renaming the sticky to "FW4PPERS: Getting Started blah blah blah".
Its been awhile since you guys were a noob and there's just too much to look at. 30 links to a ton of information without any progression order.
As much as you like to jam eveything together...I like to keep everything seperated. Something like:
Week1 Goal=Know Your Race/Attributes, Learning Skills,LVL 1 Mishs
Week3 Goal=Cruiser/Miner2, LVL 2 Mishs
Week5 Goal=BattleCruiser/Barge, LVL 3 Mishs
Week10 Goal=BattleShip/Covetor, LVL 4 Mishs
Time to Join 5PUNK !
I dunno...something short n sweet...like
I got a headache..back to mining...

This is a very good idea
I remember starting off, and I had such a massive list of skills I needed just so I could be a combat pilot that I managed to miss off some rather essential ones. Nothing's random in Eve as far as character progression goes, so it should be possible to predict rough levels that people should be trying to attain within given timescales. This would have helped me immensely, and optimised my training (I'm some way behind Friz, for example, who started after I did, due to some poor choices in training).

Just to go OT, just friz went for missiles, you chose guns which do require infinatly more SP to use well than fire and forget missiles.Dog Pants wrote:This would have helped me immensely, and optimised my training (I'm some way behind Friz, for example, who started after I did, due to some poor choices in training).
