2 and half months??? I havn't reinstalled windows for 3 years!
Yes, but my computer been unstable, well, pretty much since I first built it last january. Heck, I couldn't even use it for the first 3 months, but some fresh ram 2 1/2 months ago, and a new PSU seems to have solved the problem

This
But this is mainly because I manage my music on iTunes, on a Mac. I accept that iTunes on PC is pretty awful so I use Winamp for the times that I need to play music from my PC.
I like the new interface, especially the new album view but it seems to skip every so often, its done it three times now and it also started playing two parts of a song at the same time once...
Anything that arranges my music by artist gets a big thumbs down from me. I'm quite capable of categorising my own music thank you. That includes Mrs Pants' rubbish Sony software.
iTunes is shit.
The installer, which you have to use every time there's any kind of update, is shit. The playlist system is shit. The way it guesses which music to copy to an ipod and does so without asking is shit. It is a music store first and a music player second. That's shit.
Again: iTunes is shit.

How much have you used iTunes? If you use the playlist system well; the smart playlists work very well. I can concur with the update system, but it hasn't been an issue with me, it keeps all your info, so apart from those extra 3 minutes, there is no big issue there. Overall, I feel it is nicer mainly for its simplicity. It has a nice search function (I remember WMP had a very hidden search function). And to question Dog Pants, Why not have it sorted by Artist? And you can configure it to sort otherwise; even by your own choice!

Er ok, compared to what? I'll admit it's not perfect but what is? I can't say I've ever had a problem with it copying random stuff to my ipod, it tends to do what I tell it. Also you can turn off the music store stuff if you want, which I do.

I forgot to mention the Helpers that run when Windows starts. I know there's an option to turn it off but I'd rather be asked if I want to turn it on.
This is an issue I have with most software, actually.

As little as possible. I use the Store to browse for interesting musics and sometimes I buy.
Yes, the search is nice. If you've got your music catalogued already then that isn't an issue.
Playlists- There doesn't appear to be a way to play This followed by That and then The Other without creating a new playlist, naming it and then finding all the tracks I want to play. I could be wrong on that.

Just checked this to make sure, not sure if I entirely know what you mean, but inside a playlist you can move music to be in absolutey any order you want. Like click and drag it around to go before this, or after that.

No, not that. In Winamp you open the tracks you want and go. With iTunes you seem to need to create and name a new Playlist, then find and add tracks to it manually. Then when I come to change my mind I'll have to remove those tracks and drag new ones in. It's hassle I don't need for something that should be a simple as this.

Winamp 2. Modern skins my arse. It's like Firefox skins- I don't care. I'm busy looking at other things.
