Piercings.

Post by Sol »

Right, i am considering having my lip done (lol emo) and the risks with gums wearing down and stuff seem a bit daunting :faint:

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this sort of thing (excluding Mr Berks genetaila) and if anyone is willing to give any advice on this or even flaunt their own (again, excluding a certain members undercrackers) :)

Thanks peoples. :aww:

i still love the way lip piercings look.
i have had pretty much anything pierced that you can think to pierce at one time or another.
for me the lip was hard to heal. labrets more so than lip regular.
mostly i think that is because of the different skin types inside and out of the mouth.
as for gum erosion, i had a 0 gauge (8.25 mm) tongue barbell that gave me more erosion problems than either labret or lip did. which do you plan on doing? the ring will erode less.
i'd be happy to talk about it sometime. used to work in a piercing/tattoo shop.

Does anyone else find the whole concept of pushing bits of metal through your sensitive areas gives you terrible heeby jeebies?

I cant even bear to watch Mrs Joose putting her earings in. brr. :faint:

to be honest, it's much worse watching someone else do it (or having it done to you)

DIY is far easier (but often more painful, because you hesitate)

Seeing as we're discussing it I'll throw in my two pence :)

I wouldn't go for a piercing myself, but a girl with a flat tummy and a belly-button piercing sends me weak at the knees. Mrs Pants has a small tattoo and that's okay, although plenty of chavs have tattoos too so it doesn't really do anything for me. Personally I'd not rule out getting one, something of a modest (but not pathetic) size and that symbolises something important to me. I've never done it though and probably never will because I'd hate to get bored of it and resent it. Oddly enough, in my line of work I'm in a minority not having any tattoos.

Tattoos, now thats different. I wouldnt get one myself because 1)im a changable bastard and would hate it within a week, and 2)im a wimp. However, there was a girl i vaugely new once (I was a friend of a friend of her boyfriend. I said it was vauge) had a wierd wiggly pattern thing down her back. Not this "tribal" rubbish, it was a wierd pattern of very gentlly curving thin lines. She used to wear tops that showed it off a lot. Never did find out how far down it went :(

*that* tattoo used to make me near cream my undies. Roses, faux-tribal efforts, big lion heads and the like do nothign for me though.

I'm scared of piercings not because of having bits of metal pushed through sensitive areas, but because I KNOW I'll eventually tear it out some way or other, or if it's near my mouth, break my teeth.

The tattoo Clooney has in Dusk 'till Dawn is really nice, I'd quite like that actually. Or maybe something I designed myself, although I have a habit of developing hatred for most things I draw.

Havn;t heard bollocks like that in years, providing you arn't puishing it into your guns it won't to any damage. and a lip piercing is generally where there is a tooth behind it.

I had it done twice at one point, not a single problem, except when it got ripped, and the inside of my lipo has never fully healed!

But 1 got ripped out in Germany at a Motörhead Gig, and the other 2 got ripped out at friends gigs. This is why surface piercings rock!

roffle.

do them shallow and narrow (like 1mm bars) you'd not lose much nipple, and you'd probably bleed like a bastard :)
