Try here If not I can upload my copy, and my addons and missions directory so everyone would be immediately 'up to speed' with the mods.

I wouldn't have a clue where to start and it's about 4 gig iirc

I downloaded a lot of this last time it was discussed. I'm up for a go at it, although normal restrictions apply :)

In a nutshell tho, 'plausible reality' is what most games should aim to achieve in order to avoid being discarded as bonk my the casual gamer.
:above: This. Suspension of disbelief is what makes games enjoyable, if games claim to be realistic, people just pick holes in them. I'm not qualified to actually recognise realism in a game about soldiers, I can only make guesses that the reason they have done things a certain way is an attempt to make it appear more realistic.

While I'm not sure that I've played the game long enough to fairly judge it (after all I hated Op Flashpoint at first, but it grew on me) Maniachicken is absolutely correct about your squad's AI - mine have been getting stuck on walls all over the place.

AA looks great but for some reason, 60 people fighting over 10 kilometers doesn't seem like great gameplay material.
thats lies that is, IMO as a pure FPS player and not much else its terrible. For the love of all things holy dony buy it download it and save 30 quid.

While I agree in principle on the whole "realism not being real" thing, I dont have a problem with games calling themselves "realistic" or claiming they have "a high level of realism". They are only talking comparatively. You would have to be off your nut to think that they actually mean "this is just like real life! honest". If it were "real" then getting shot in the head would mean you could never play the game ever again.

When people use the term "realism" when talking about games, what they mean is "Fairly close to being real, whilst still being a game". Its just a handy term so you can easily differentiate the Ghost Recons, Beefs and OFPs from the UTs and the Quakes.

Having said all that, OFP is one of the finest games ive ever played, and if i can free up enough space on my HD, i'll definately be up for some co-op action. It certainly is the closest any game I have played has come to simulating running about with a gun trying to insert bullets into people. Other than paintball.

If you want Friznit, type out a new thread with all the Operation Flashpoint info in one post, and I'll sticky it, and see if we can drum up any interest :w00t:

Yes, Tezz's idea is a good one, getting a bit lost in all the GRAW and OpFlash talk. The question I ask in the subject is the same question I ask myself every Friday.

hmm.. then it SHALL BE DONE!

I'll create a new thread, ask for it to be sticky'd, and then each week post what games are coming out. It shall be updated each Monday, so you have enough time to buy!

Or, if you wish, grumble about!

If you fancy it, you could be a moderator for this forum, as we currently don't have one, and it might be a good idea if you keep an eye on what's new and so on
