Fancy Dress!

Post by Lateralus »

Right boys and girls!

I need a simple yet effective fancy dress costume in the theme of cartoon/comic book characters. Theres already an Optimus Prime going to the party, and I want to steer clear of Dennis the Menace/Flintstones type ones.

I was thinking maybe Tintin, since I'm blond and could just get hold of some plus-fours and a blue jumper and a white terrier toy a lá:

but I thought you guys may have some better suggestions too.

(warning: Silly answer first!)

Why not go as a minmatar? Bif of face paint, some fake dreadlocks, it'd be great :)

Honestly though, I've never gotten the whole fancy dress thing, so no idea.

Go as Yogi, in just a tie and collar.

Or you could go as Dick Dastardly from Wacky Races.

Or- with the help of some massive clothes and loads of padding- anyone from Pigeon Street.

Best impromptu fancy dress I did was a Ninja Turtle.
Requires:
1 military issue sleeping bag
1 issue pair of long johns
1 issue Norwegian shirt
sandals
belt
old T-shirt

Cut t-shirt into five strips.
Cut holes in one strip for eyes.
Put on long johns, sandals and norgie.
Put hood of sleeping bag over head like a cape when you were a kid.
Pull loop at bottom of sleeping bag through legs and over back of head.
Put belt on.
Tie strips of cloth around elbows, knees and eyes.
Make sure the cloth around the eyes is the one with the holes in.
Pick up random ninja weapon (everyone has them lying around).
Stuff wallet, phone, camera etc. into crotch of costume (no pockets you see).
Strike a ninja pose thus!

How about Sailor Moon, Faye Valentine or Cammy? That cosplay link to the Edge forums Spoodie posted in the message board demonstrates how effective and attractive you could look.
