Feeling a bit intimidated by all you gun toting BEEF fanatics, but here goes...I bought this game ages ago but never really played it much. I was put off by the 12 year olds on the public servers but from what I see here, we have lots of mature, well-rounded players who like to have a good time. And acting like 12 year olds is very different to actually being 12 :P

I'm getting very close to reinstalling and joining you guys of an evening from time to time. Do I absolutely have to purchase the SF and/or Euroforce addon packs to play though? (The latter has Challenger 2 afaik which is a pretty strong selling point, even if I never play the game again  ) And will you be nice to me if I'm the worstest shot ever? I'm scared if guns. They make me

Nope, we generally play ordinary beef as not everyone has the expansion packs.

I don't have Euroforce and I never play SF.

Beef still has hundreds of 12 year olds, but I either ignore them, kill them or try to annoy them.

This.

Also, when starting out I found it a lot easier to play as a medic or support and just back-up the others. It works a lot better when playing as a squad, and 5punk squad is generally the best in the maps we play too. Theres no need to jump on the guns at the beginnning if you're not quite used to the game yet. You should definitely come join us tho!

I'm ready to prove you wrong, but yes the 5punk games are infinitely better than Beef with 31 leetspeaking monkeys. You can ignore them when you have an 5punky squad, but make sure you tirn off the in-game VOIP.

also, i you just need to get the hang of stuff, jump on the 5punk server, I've certainly got a shitload better at flying from playing on an emptyish server.

As a side note, how many of you play the expansion packs on BF2?
I want to add them to the 5cheduler List along with the new icons and so on, but have no idea if any of you play them.

A <strike>sidenote</strike> tangent? On 5punk? How rare!

I have Euro horses, but haven't played it much. I'd like to though, and an icon would help matters for the 5cheduling.

Can someone make some up with the right colouring the same as the one used in this forum please, as it looks like Xfire doesn't support it? Or does it just appear as BF2 when playing through Xfire?

All the BEEF expansions show up as BEEF as far as I know, as they all launch through the main BEEF exe.
