The problem with flares is that the warning beeps when theres a lock-on, not a missile fired. I tend to lock onto a target, wait for the flares to be released and dissipate, then fire, and it usually works too. So theres no majik answer really.

I did find that turning the mouse sensitivity right up makes flying a lot easier though, since you can then actually turn at a rate that is useful rather than needing 3 minutes of notice first.

For driving, just look where you're going. Seriously. You can see mines on the road and avoid them, and the small, fast buggy-type vehicles will outmanouver and outspeed tanks and apcs, so just keep moving and chances are you'll get by them alive. Also, although people on foot become insignificant ants to be squashed or ignore once in a tank or apc, its worth killing them if you can. Partly because that how to get points easily, and partly because some of the ants have big fuck-off anti-tank rockets that will kill you to death.

Here endeth the lesson.

don't release flares as soon as there's a lock, wait as long as you dare, drop flares and try to get the fuck out the way

as far as armour goes, if you get locked, drop smoke, reverse and turn to one side and/or try to get something between you and the rocket (walls are good, as are other tanks)

in cars, just keep moving, if you stop, you're fucked.

My policy when in a tank is not to be afraid. If there's a lock on you, chances are you can kill it before it can get a shot off. If helps if you're an engineer and get out and repair youself as often as you can. I've killed everything at least once in a tank, it's just a matter of finding the open window to "take the shot" or whatnot.

I agree. If you know there's a place you can go repair really fast (or at least not in an enemy spawn area), then take a few hits. Most people don't know where to hit you to take you out, so it will take more than 4 AT Rockets to kill you. Also, get a buddy to drive behind you in another tank/APC/car as an engineer. They will get a lot of repair points, and you get repaired constantly. In fact, 2 APCs with engineers is one of the best things evar.

I always forget which key it is to deploy flares.

This is possibly why I get shot down.

Possibly.

this, brake for nothing. even when following a road, swerve around like some drunk chav inbetweeen trees and under road signs. if some armor or copter gets an easy shot at you then your a dead man instantly, make him work for it

ive put my space bar for flares. much better than trying to strech your thumb down to get to x. also, i find around 1.80 - 2.00 sensitivity is the best, because its not too tricky as in the slightest movement you lose control, you can easily get yourself out of tricky situations. with attack chopper, press w until u got the copter at a decent height, then just use your mouse to control, its much easier

Deject, and his vehicle, both transport temporarily to an alternative server hosted locally on his machine, where he repairs fully, re-heals himself, has a burger and a milkshake, then rejoins the main server on the internet. However, the real trick is that he does it so quickly that it looks as though he never even left. This is achieved by Deject pausing time. This is necessary because otherwise the people on teamspeak would notice something is wrong, and may begin to suspect the truth: Deject is in charge of the internet.

I miss in BF1942 how you could just hit the smaller tanks in the ass end and they'd be fucked. :ahoy:

This!

Now when you do it, they raise a complaint about sexual abuse and start legal proceedings against you.

That's when you tie them up and throw them in the trunk of your car.

But anyway, back to tanks...
