Resident Evil 1 (Gamecube remake)

Post by Fred Woogle »

Hey, Ive been playing this game for a few days, I think they've done amazing things to it, Alot of it is the same, but the graphics are awesome. Some of the puzzle's have been changed, and I think the lay out of the mansion has been changed a bit (maybe to fit in with resident evil zero) I used to love the resident evil games, but I thought they statrted getting a bit to repetative (I have never played veronica X on PS2) and they were to easy, but the best thing about the remake is how hard some of it is now. Like you can shoot a zombie in the head 8 times and it still keeps coming. and you now have a defense thing, were you have daggers and stun guns, and when an enimie gabs you (just as long as not from behind, you stab it or stun it), which makes the game alot better. I used to complete the game in just under 2hours, but I have about 6 or 7 hours of playingm abnd im still not half way through the mansion, and I was wondering wether anyone has been playing/played this, and can give me any tips?

Cheers

Sorry, I don't have a gamecube.

Are the views still snapshots of rooms like the original, or does the screen now follow the main character?

I loved the first Resident Evil on the playstation, and I don't think I have ever played such a scary/jumpy game since.

I know the thing about being scary, baring in mind i was still a kid then, how old is it? 10 years or so, so I was only about 7 or 8, mayb a bit older. Its still the dodgy camera angles, but I dont think it would be resident evil with out them, but some awesome things, you see reflections in mirrors, you can actually see reflections or the angle its facing, so you can see arounf corners, but also, if you kill a zombie, without blowing its head off, it will get back up later son, or bite you foot or something. So you have to burn them. I think it is very good for a remake, and a hell of alot harder! If you know anyone with a cube you can borrow, I highly reccomend you give it a blast!

My mate has this on his cube. I played it after a night of drunken debauchery. Shat myself repeatedly.

Great stuff.
