Might I throw down a gauntlet?

Post by Hehulk »

So, once upon a time, we had battleship projects. Large, hulking, huge amounts of effort that took many weeks to complete. Since then, we've expanded to such a point that you get all of us in the same position for a few hours, and we've got the minerals sorted (and while I'm saying this, we need to get another major op done so we can build Lees Mega and whatever ever else is due)

In hourour of this memory, I'd like to propose 5punks hardest mining challenge to date: A Freighter. Mainly for humping stuff about empire, as we don't have the fire-power to escort one about in 0.0, it'd be a nifty thing to have a corp freighter :) Best option, if I can twist all your arms into it, would be the NAGA on-site BYOM offer, as they bring their BPOs to you and construct it right there.

Thoughs? Comments? Suggestions? Insults?

Link to the Mineral Requirements

Crazily hard, yes. We'd need somewhere with a stupid number of roids fields. Good sizes ones too. Do we still have our office in Elgoi? (or was it eram...)

Hence, corp project, not a solo one. And might you mean it's also soul destroying mining solo?

I'm in. Combination with the cheaky 0.01 buy order and such should also help. Can I assume that we'll be building one of those square ones cos they're cheapest? Freighter hauling in empire may mean the pilot leaving the corp temporarily to avoid war decs too. Also might facilititate any move 'up North' should we one day decide that Catch is even more arse than it already is.

I'll be able to fly either Galante (which would be prefrerable I think) or Amarr

I don't even know what a freighter is, but if it will help the corp, (and it sounds like it really will) then I'm definitely in. (As much as possible anyway.) I've convinced my wife to let me have Wednesday nights for EVE, so I could possibly set up cans in belts, or just go scouting for asteroid belts, whatever could be helpful!

I think the square one is the Gallante one (I know Bomber and Lee also use Gallante Indies along with me, anyone else?)

To get an idea of the size of a Freighter, look up 'Space' in the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, then replace the word "Space" with "A Freighter"

Isn't the Gallente on a big fat thing with green blobs on the sides? I thought the Caldari one is the flat one.

Point taken and well understood. I'll prioritise my latest post (the things to do list) into money making first, nice to haves second. Short answer though, is we all know how to make money for the corp - but we need to bloody well do it if we want this to work!! This means selling the haf, mining like nutters so we can build ships to sell and others to rat in, ice for the POS fuel bla bla bla you've all heard it from me millions of times before. On our latest investment on shares - it's just that, an investment. It'll pay a small dividend and grow in price. If we get totally strapped, we can always sell them. ISS shares have gone like hot cakes in the last two projects.

We have a mining op tomorrow - be there!

Cheers for that Fea :) Honestly needed a bit of a wake up call. My recent small amount of sucess in eve seems to have gone to my head slightly, so I'm getting mad ideas by the hours. Now, in the last week I've been having plenty of Me time, and hardly done jack for the corp, so I'll kick that around tommorow by hauling the hafnium up to jita, getting it sold, then seeing about getting our POS fuel for the month down to Khank ready for shifting down to the POS.
Basicially, ideas are great, but I need to go back to basics prolly and think about how it'd be possible, if it is at all.

Also if my luck holds, I'll chuck some isk into the corp wallet...

Anything else mule like I can do? Been sitting on the sidelines mostly for fecking ages, and I'm feeling right guilty now.
