Re: Wildstar
Are we going for Exile or Dominomnomnom?
Re: Wildstar
Dominion of course!
Re: Wildstar
I try and get some kind of mini review out at some point.
If anybody is currently playing or plans to, I am on Ascendancy (PvE) I have Medic (Rumack, 15) Engineer (Isenbard, 6) and a stalker (Korvydae, 2)

Oop, saw this and forgot to respond. Its good! I didnt play it a huge amount originally though, as I only had a trial account, so I don't know how much it has improved and how much is just stuff I would have liked if I had seen it originally. Its certainly holding my attention better than WoW did when I gave that another go recently.
Re: Wildstar
I've been back to Nexus and I can honestly say that I am quite surprised at how few servers are left standing. In EU there are two english servers, one PvP one PvE. I think it is a travesty that a game with such high intentions and production values has been left to drool in the gutter, I am of course part of the problem I left a few months after release and I can honestly say - I'm not sure why I did.
I think what it boiled down to was my turbo charged assault on a game that I really should be taking my time with. This second time around I am reading the quest text admiring the world and exploring a lot more - I did take the explorer path on purpose to take myself out of my comfort zone somewhat, I'm also playing a stealthy bastard which is unusual for me. If I'd bothered to take the time and read what was going on the first time I might not have dropped it quite as quickly - I would probably have dropped it at end game though, but in all fairness that would have been through a lack of folks to play endgame with. I do remember there was a grindy period shortly before un-subbing but I'm not sure if that was the game or me that caused that now. I mean, I used to find Ellevar quite drab and boring but if I stop racing off and start to take in the story things are a bit different.
Given that the game will be going F2P in about 2 weeks I'm proposing a 5punky day/weekend out on planet Nexus. What do you have to lose, it will be free!
Some thoughts though.
Don't play if you are going to turbo through the quests and not read anything, you probably won't enjoy it much. I'm not saying that your playstyle isn't valid but be mindful my second point, which is...
Don't play if you are hooked on levelling - levels are slow, like vanilla WoW slow. If you are smoking the crack pipe of level gains then this won't satisfy.
This has more action gameplay that your average MMO, you can't faceroll to victory - well, not as easily as other games - it does require concentration to play.
I don't know what the F2P model will be, if it is a cap on XP gain then it should probably be avoided - depends how bad the cap is.

Re: Wildstar
I'm happy enough to give it a go. Especially for 5punky times. I remember the likes of Trickster, which wasn't the best MMO by a long stretch, when we all got together and made our own entertainment. Wildstar got mixed reviews, but that's par for the course with MMOs.

Re: Wildstar
I hope you've got more luck than I do, logging in seems to be broke right now.
Re: Wildstar
Is there some mechanism to allow people of different levels to play together?

Re: Wildstar
I did a rebel plague zombie person since FJ was going to do a rabbit person but I'm not very far in the game so I could easily switch to an evil guy.
You might notice I didn't pay attention to the lore.

Re: Wildstar
I tried to make a Draken character but I can't get on the server right now. But fear not, the legend of mighty Krampus Goatfister is yet to be sung!

I've rolled myself a rastafarian Space Zombie so I have a good guy as well. I've only played it for a short while, I do love the level up animations though.
EDIT
This lag is appalling

Re: Wildstar
I got to the bit where you select your start area on the planet - is it reasonably easy to meet up with friends whichever you choose or should I pick particular ones depending on what race they say usually go there?
