Is this that mod that's been in development since forever? I'll have me some of that!

I thought it might be but apparently it's not.
This one is actually by Anti-Matter, the studio who partnerned with TWI on Rising Storm proper. It's not the team behind the In Country: Vietnam mod, Popsmoke Games, who've apparently moved to UE4 and gone standalone.

I think this is very much AM and TWI liking the theme and deciding to roll their own.

That's the great thing about games set in Nam isn't it. That war movie atmosphere. Baconam wasn't that good, but it was made great by the music and imagery. And shooting down helicopters with tanks.

I quite like baconam but it wasn't a fully fleshed out game and did feel a bit tacked on. In it's defense it did have jeeps with soundtracks and rickshaws.

Feeling a bit better about this game. First proper "gameplay" we've seen. Even its E3 showing was a bit vague.

It looks pretty but I can't get as excited as the IGN man up there. Where's the long-term stuff? Exploring planets seems fun but it'll get old really fast if all I can do is trade things and upgrade to get to the centre of the galaxy. It's still a bit vague is what I'm sayin'.
