Re: Movie Trailers
Visually, looks good. I quite like the notion of the controversy that people are following Superman because of his power rather than because of his example, that's quite an interesting topic which would probably make a good movie on its own as it's questioning the nature of mankind.
But...Batman vs Superman? It feels as if they're pissing on both characters unless they go down a Superman III route of a fall from grace and a rebirth. In terms of a straight up fight, based on the last Superman film Batman would have no chance.

They've gone head to head a number of times before. Superman being massively overpowered is usually offset by his unwillingness to harm people. If anything it's the Man of Steel film that pissed over the concept of this, as he seemed more than willing to flatten the shit out of everything in sight just to brawl with one person.buzzmong wrote:But...Batman vs Superman? Re: Movie Trailers
Maybe, I've always thought that successfully managing to minimise damage every time with everything they (ie, general very strong superhero types) do is a bit daft though. Might be because I was watching a clip of Hancock the other day, but I get the feeling that when you've got the power to fly, be impervious to any and everything, bash through buildings as if they're nothing and generally cause massive damage without any effort, even a unexpected fart could result in flattening a few buildings.Roman Totale wrote:They've gone head to head a number of times before. That all said, I didn't realise one of the writers behind it was the same chap who wrote all three of the latest Batman films, and also wrote Man of Steel. He also did Blade as well. Might turn out ok.

Crimson Peak.

Looks good, it has a vibe of Del Toro's early ghost film "The devil's backbone" to it.

Re: Movie Trailers
Hmm, we're seeing a bit of a renaissance in space/sci-fi films recently aren't we? That looks interesting.

We do seem to be. That does look rather interesting. "Based on a book" films always make me want to read the book first though.buzzmong wrote:Hmm, we're seeing a bit of a renaissance in space/sci-fi films recently aren't we? That looks interesting.

Re: Movie Trailers
It is meant to be a good book, and not massively spendy on kindle.
Re: Movie Trailers
The book is very good, especially if you have some interest in the engineering aspects of staying alive in that situation and the main character is very entertaining. I've listened to the audiobook twice. Very much looking forward to this film, looks promising.

Both of those look better than I expected.
