2014 Nominations: SP GotY

Post by Dog Pants »

Welcome to the nominations thread for the 5punk Single Player Game of the Year 2014. This is where the antisocial loners can tout the game which gave them the most solitary entertainment this year. Videogames I mean, masturbation would be hands down winner every year otherwise. Please post your nominations below, a poll will be taken in the New Year to determine the winner.

Got to be Wolfenstein for me, although Shadows of Mordor kept my attention for a while.

I think Wolfenstein might be my nomination too. I've played some good games this year - The Fall, Brothers, Hexcells Infinite, Octodad - but none drew me in like Wolfenstein. Single player shooters struggle to capture my attention these days, as the neglected Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2 in my 'to complete' list attest to, but Wolfenstein managed to keep the combat fresh and the environments interesting, only really disappointing me with the final boss fight.

Oh! Wastelands 2. I left it for a while before I played it so there are almost certainly 5punkers better qualified than me to talk about it, but it's shaping up to be everything I'd hoped it to be as a veteran of many Fallout games.

I have to nominate Dreamfall Chapters, even though I'm pretty sure no one else cares and it's not actually finished.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Sitting down, nothing planned, what shall I do? Load up isaac, 40 minutes of your life just flies by, cool.

Dragon Age Inquisition gets my nom. Nothing else has been quite so big, all the big names promised have not appeared or been a letdown.
