Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Hmmmm, I will grab it gingerly then once I have a good grip on it take off at full speed away. Hopefully I'm fast enough to avoid whatever trap this is.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Could you make a strength roll please? Stat checks in SLA are a bit wanky, but I'll apply an appropriate modifier so it's not an auto-pass.

Strength (8): 4, 2 + 8 = 14
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
You manage to shift it half an inch or so but it's pretty heavy. Now you have though, it's a bit wobbly and you can see darkness through a small gap you've made.

I'll turn on the UV lamp and see what I can see in there.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
You can't see much through the gap, but it looks to be a small, rough shaft.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Do we know if our dude used a FEN AR at all?
Does this shaft appear at all to be on the path to where his last contact was?

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
You don't know what equipment he had, but since you're treading a roughly direct path to his last position it's safe to say this is also.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
I'll motion to my Stormer compatriot to come over and give me a hand pulling on the strap, since I'm apparently too weak.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Oh, I thought you meant you were pulling the lump of concrete for some reason. The strap pulls free far easier, revealing a frayed end. As you do pull it you hear something clattering down the shaft, which is followed a second later by a roar as the concrete is hurled into the air by a geyser of hot gas. Since you bolted back as soon as you pulled it you merely feel the blasting heat rather than get a faceful of it. A few seconds later you hear the concrete land nearby, and the vent slows to a steady stream of hot air.

I will go back to the vent and see what I can see.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
I hope it's a sewer.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
It's not a sewer, it's a ragged hole which seems to open into a narrow fissure. It isn't a straight drop so you can only see as far as the first kink about twenty feet below. There's a metal bar wedged down there with a bit of strap attached to it. The air coming out of the fissure is very hot.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
I'm thinking this is probably a trap and we should move on. Any other ideas?
Unless there's anything else anyone would like to do here, I suggest continuing on.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
I have no clue. If it is a trap its fairly rubbish, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't one. I cant see any compelling evidence that the bloke we are after is wedged down a hot fissure in the ground, so I second the motion to move on.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Somewhere a cannibal has a sadface at you slagging off his vent trap. I'll move us along once I get home and check the BPN.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Moving on then. You continue to meander through the ruins. Whoever's on point (Deject?) please make make a detect roll, and a hide roll if you're being stealthy.
