Think that's everyone isn't it? Joose, doesn't matter if you have hide or not, you passed with that roll. Grimmie, nice use of Tactics.
You all dive into cover, gaps between the rubble and debris (there's plenty of it around), and wait. It takes a minute or so of lying around feeling silly, but the buzzing gets steadily louder until suddenly everything goes black and the noise becomes almost deafening. It's hard to see what just happened - it's literally pitch black, you can't see your hand in front of your face, and unless you're on internal air you start to struggle to breathe. On infra-red, if anyone tries it, it looks like white noise.

Is Ultraviolet any better than IR?
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Not really, at least not until it starts to brighten up again. The cause of all this nastiness becomes apparent around a minute after it started when the droning starts to subside and it begins to get lighter. A huge cloud of billions of large flies has passed over you, the stragglers of which cover every surface and reduce visibility. Gradually they thin out and fly away, leaving scattered dead on the ground, crushed beneath you where you've moved, and clogging your air filters. You missed the worst of it in your cubby-holes.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Is it possible to clean out the filters at this point?
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Mostly. They're mushed in or anything, they just need brushing off. Most of the flies departed and it's easy enough to breathe again, you just have a few dead ones stuck to the filters. With a few buddy-buddy checks you're okay.

In that case, let's soldier on. I'll resume point duties.

Hal looks at the cigar he was smoking with a look of mild disgust and flicks it into a corner. He gets out a fresh one and lights it.

Out of interest, how are you smoking a cigar if you're wearing a helmet? Or are you not wearing one?

Though that would be awesome, Hal has no helmet.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
It's only fair to warn you then that the air in Cannibal Sector 4 is pretty rank, regularly making you gag. Also, while the fly swarm was going past, you ended up with them in your nose, mouth and ears. I'm assuming you kept your eyes shut. If you stray too close to the river the fumes make you feel a little dizzy.

Kotter offers Hal one of his lollipops, to take away the taste of fly.

Shall we push on, dear party? We have a potentially crazy person to find.Grimmie wrote:I dread to think what flavour Wraith lollipops are. Fish and locust?
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
You press onwards then. Not long after the flies have gone you pick up another spurious motion blip, but this time it doesn't disappear. It isn't moving (well it is or it wouldn't pick up on the scanner, but it's not travelling), and it's about 30m ahead and to the left away from the river.
