Yeah sure, I can be out front. It's kinda my job really.

I'll be out in front of the squad a bit and try to be sneaky about it.

Kotter keeps a close eye on the blips on his motion scanner; keeping to the back of the group he places a hand on his pistol... just in case.

Ahead of you your route is channelled between two huge concrete slabs which were once the sides of buildings. The ground in the middle of the narrow path looks odd, a slight depression which seems to drain away the rainwater with an echoing splash.

I'm thinking we should avoid the depression. I suggest sticking close to the remnants of the walls.

As I pass the depression I'll try to get a better look at it.

You sidle along the edge of a sheared off section. As you pass by the depression and get a closer look you can see slight creases in the surface, and following those to the edge you realise that it's actually a weighted down piece of cloth. It's masterfully disguised by a thin layer of filth and positioned so that it doesn't collect the water too much.

Hal is keeping firmly to the middle of the group, peering at everything with intense distrust. He will give the cloth covered hole a particularly withering stare.

Grimmie leans around the group to get a look at it, sort of strafing behind everyone to keep an eye on the rear.

Kotter shuffles forward with the pack, still keeping an eye on his motion scanner

There's always something to be worried about, we're in the Cannibal Sectors. If we tracked every suspicious blip we'd never leave this place. Better to keep moving and find our prey.

I'll take that as a consensus.

You all edge past the peculiar depression and carry on. Going is slow - an hour in and you reckon you've maybe covered half a kilometer due to having to wind through the difficult terrain, doubling back at dead ends, scaling low obstacles. You're also far from subtle with your armour (and Stormer). Despite it all you've seen no sign of life in the time you've been here, although you do occasionally pick up the odd blip on your motion scanners, which never stick around for long.

If Grimmie is bringing up the REar, Eraser will bring up the front of the line (as it is) behind the scouting Deject.

Your approach takes you back towards the festering river again, and as you make your way up the bank those of you with better hearing start to notice a low droning noise, slowly getting louder.

Tracking doesn't help a great deal, but you can tell it's coming from up ahead. Peering up the river you can see the mist and murk growing darker as the noise gets more audible. You can all hear it now.

Oop, that sounds bad. I'll scan the area quickly and help point out hiding positions to the rest of the team before taking cover myself.
