I think we've actually attained a state of 5punk nostalgia, spazzing back 5 years to the old way of midweek gaming.

Yep. I only managed an hour but I enjoyed a couple of rounds of Mann vs Machine. I noticed it took a bit to get going, I think people were waiting for others to start then joined in. How many were on TS?

I installed it yesterday, but apparently I forgot to copy my user profile. No p90 for me.

Must install when I go home.. I think I still have a backup of my profile too - but if everyone else is starting fresh maybe I should too. Maybe.

Was fun having a good old-fashioned Source Wednesday. Also, hello RandomGazz, it was fun seeing you!

There's ways of haxxing to 55 for those with lost profiles. The game is still rather popular all told, so starting afresh might not yield a pleasant experience.

Use this for level 55 yourself.

Had to seek it out because my profile was corrupt (I suspect it was last used with another CD key), follow the readme. easy mode.

There's a possibility I might still have my original profile so if I do I'll with that, at least I'll have an excuse of some kind for being rubbish

I think I still have it installed. It's just easier that way. If it isn't I'll be honest and say I can't be arsed pissing about with it.

That works, but I had trouble getting onto punkbuster servers. Another guide told me to change the punkbuster folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\pb) to "pb2" before changing to lvl 55, then changing it back. That worked.

Also, here are the patches and such:

Apparently Punkbuster stopped supporting CoD4 at the beginning of the year, so that's great.

Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ddbab ... es2014.rar

And unzip the lot to your /cod4/pb/ folder. Apparently that should help.

Edit
Appears to be for manual PB installations. It's just removed completely from the games list.

That was fun (I was Bob Dylan's Pan, fuck knows why). I got kicked for Marty though. Didn't realise I had it on.

If we can get it to work without punkbuster that should be good, since it doesn't really play nice with wine.

Cod 4: Hectic. I forgot how easily you die in that game. Pop your head up above a parapet for a second and have it blown off by a sniper across the map. Probably better with a server full of 5punkers, but Mr J, Pnut and I had to retire after a few maps.

Chiv: Good fun as always. Six or seven of us went on a low gravity map and had a go at chopping each other's limbs off.

CoD was on hardcore mode, normal is more forgiving. Personally I prefer hardcore, it was very refreshing to not have to empty a magazine into someone to kill them.
