If you're low on budget, it might be worth considering an AMD processor over an Intel as they're pretty good and a damn sight cheaper. Mine is a quad core AMD from 1 or 2 generations back and it's works very nicely

If you're low on budget, it might be worth considering an AMD processor over an Intel as they're pretty good and a damn sight cheaper. Mine is a quad core AMD from 1 or 2 generations back and it's works very nicely

Yeah being considering that. I can afford the I5 i have quoted and my mate explained to me that Intel is more future proof or some such and that choosing AMD over intel would require more investment sooner than Intel?

Its is DDR3, Ripjaws ram i believe. As for my model Mobo, i honestly cant remember.

That does look pretty good to me, out of interest what size is your current hard drive/boot partition? You'll probably be able to clone it straight onto the new hardware and save yourself the ballache of installing everything again and W7 is unlikely to care about the change in CPU. It'll want to recheck its licence again but that's likely to be the worst of it and it can do that online.

Not really. Short of failure you're only likely to need to invest more into it when you decide your rig has got too slow!

Looking at it actually looks like Intel have picked up their game since I last checked so I suppose it really comes down to which are available for the vouchers you have
