Well I went with 123-reg (sorry batty)...and it all seems to be fine. However separating the domain and hosting had caused no end of problems.

Because the domain was no longer with the hosting people, they stopped the Junkyard pointing to their hosting, even though all the nameservers were correct.

I raised a ticket with the tech support people, all of whom failed at their jobs, and still didn't get the site working. Then I phoned them up, and I got somewhere, but now the Junkyard is pointing to normal hosting, not the CGI server where all the site is hosted and clever stuff can go on.

A side affect of this was that all email sent to my email address @ the Junkyard went into a big fat black hole. :(

*sigh*

I hate tech support people. :ignore:

*Request for Grimmie's Cast Ressurect Picture*

Hey there.. I was thinking of making a small website, but I don't want to host too much on it, and the bandwidth is likely to be quite low. After a look at the websites already mentioned this http://www.eukhost.com/copper.php seemed to be a nice cheap deal (£22 p/year). If there is anything in a similar price bracket of better standards please tell me?

Oh and by the way, the $7.95 deal from dreamhost comes out as £54.57 p/year. (Gotta love google calculator and currency convertor).

Dont you have free hosting from your ISP? If you wanted a specific domain you could just buy the name and forward it on to your ISP hosting, cheaper that way.

Sorry no Free hosting from this ISP. :( But anything under £30/year is something I don't mind parting with for good service (note: Must have PHP ability.)
