I may pop on for some shenanigans, if we get a few we can float round the edges of the horde mopping up minor points and capping straggling infiltrators etc.

Patch is out and it's 1.8GB, so get patching in advance unless you want to spend tomorrow evening watching a progress bar. I might have to put in some cash to have a go on the Lancer (new VS anti-tank laser thing).

It hasn't had a patch for weeks, this is the one I mentioned back up there. Anyway, at least they're keeping on it (although I believe some people are still having performance issues).

It's on Indar if anyone's joining, although there's a queue. I expect that's down to the fact the patch was just released as much as anything else. Also, the warp gates have rotated again.

Well we got four of us together for some limited teamwork and one hell of a pasting. We were pushed back to Mekala Tech Plant as we joined just as the attack was petering out, despite spotting the RPS leader nearby. I think most of the horse got pulled away to defend against a big TR attack, but we managed to repulse two NC attacks on the southern tower before the TR ate them too and came in horse. By the time we lost the facility we'd been surrounded and VS had been pretty much pushed back to the warp gate. It's a shame that we didn't get involved in some spectacular massed attacks, rather than some frustratingly futile defences, but that's Planetside for you. Back at the warp gate I expect we could have got some decent victories in the outlying zones, which is actually where I do most of my playing, but it's getting late and there's always tomorrow night.

Dog Pants wrote:We had some organisation, top level orders, on Esamir tonight and were giving a good fight. The map was pretty much split three ways. I tagged along with some of the easily recognisable RPS guys - they generally use the giraffe camo which makes me shoot at them thinking they're NC - about three Sunderers full of them. Highlights include an artillery battle across a valley as an NC zerg hit our main horse at one of those aircraft tower things, and a lone cavalry charge in a HE equipped lighting, taking the pressure off the defenders (who ultimately lost anyway) by circling the attackers and shelling them. I got three or four kills and about six high speed laps.
That night made the official War Correspondent reel, despite them getting the server name wrong. I was there for the early stages of the attack on the TR facility (Freyr Amp Station), so during the bit where they're stood on the top of the hill if you spot a heavy in arctic camo with a Nemesis it could be me.

I'm an idiot and downloaded the game via the standalone rather than Steam. I assume this won't affect me joining the rest of you too much?

Shouldn't make any difference at all. Steam doesn't even keep the game updated (although with the size of the patches that's probably for the best).

Eventful planetsiding tonight, peaking at a squad of 9, including one random who joined in trying to cadge a ride on my Lightning. I have to admit to killing seven 5punkers in an unfortunate Sunderer crash tonight, and the mass ejection of 5punk from a Galaxy, courtesy of locking it and booting all players out, much to their surprise. The latter went quite well, making a dent in the TR assault for quite some time until the VS could come back from the warp gate. The former not so much. Eventually we helped push Indar back to both enemy warps pretty much, but it was falling apart by the time we disbanded. Still, a good 5punky night eventually, unfortunately after a few had left.

That RPS guy in the giraffe Magrider must have hated Pete. Or their tanks loved each other very much.
