I think another level would really make this map. maybe have the vault upstairs? or the CT's could start on top of the bank and work their way down the building to the vault.

also, would this map be one where the terrorists could just make it outside to win the round?

I like the idea of the cashiers desks, and some general 'in the way' type stuff in the main hall, maybe an upper level to the main hall with a balcony all/half the way round, or some kind of mezzanine arrangement!.

(And don't forget the barrels  )
That's exactly how it looks in my mind. It sounds silly but I based it very lightly on the Bank level on Spider-man 2 for PC (which is horrific, avoid at all costs; I reviewed it on TV).

Thoughts for CT spawn: spawn em outside, and give them various entrances such as the front door (for people with Steel Testes), through the bogs window (for sneaky sneaky types) or through skylights (in a SWAT stylee).

A mezzanine is a must for any Bank Robbery scenario. As for the big bit in the middle, how about one of those bank tellers thingies, with all the bulletproof glass and limited entrances/exits. You could use it as a second way to get to a part of the map, and people could shoot through the ickle money holes.

Just random thoughts, feel free to ignore them/bastardase them into some other form/claim them as your own.

my thoughts were to have it on a street, with CTs spawning outside, terrorists in the building, not sure if i have my sketches about, also, contact jinxx for suggested layouts for banks.

I also like the idea of spawning outside. And the sketches are fab.

That is all.

I must say, I really, really do like the idea of a mezzanine and it was one my first ideas but I couldn't map it properly. I can see if we combine all of our ideas we can really get somewhere. You'll be pleased to know that bulletproof glass is possible and would be a useful tactical piece. When I got home I'll have another go at the layout (combining the layouts of others and mine) and we should come up with something reasonable. Then we can just get started with actual making the level.

i wonder if it's be be possible to have money pickups too.

say doing a certain thing (perhaps opening a cash draw or something) giving everyone on your team getting $500 or something/

anyway, such things will get us nowhere yet.

i'll get jinxx to sort the bank layout info stuff when he gets up, as ideally i think some realism is good

I'm not sure whether that's possible to be honest. It'd probably require creating some kind of prefab and applying a certain code to it which is more likely in mods than maps.

It'd stray from the object of the level too; to get to the vault and save the wonderful little hossies.

So is the idea all 4 hostages would be in the vault? Just an idea, but in these hostage rescue maps, usually there are 2 groups of 2. Maybe (if feasable regarding the layout) put two in the vault and 2 behind the counter or in some offices or something along those lines. It's always the bank robbing sceneario where they hold up the bank, then take the manager to open the safe. But that's in the typical Hollywood sense :)

Hello ladies...

As I'm some kind of Architect, I have a pile of books which give accurate examples of building types and whatnot.

The book 'Metric Handbook: Planning And Design Data (Second Edition)' has a chapter dedicated to bank, building society and benefits office layouts

I have included a pdf of said chapter. Hope it helps!

my aim is to get something realistic-ish, hopefully very good for assaulting, but also very defendable, teamwork kinda level.
