Shame, MWO turned out to be crap and I'm glad I got a full refund on my legendary pack. If this is a c&d then they're just being spiteful cunts, a free mod that likely had no impact on their player base is not a threat.

From what I have been able to find out, its not a C&D order. Other than that I cant make out what's going on. There seems to be a lot of shit being flung at the MW:O guys both on their own forums and on the MWLL forums but nobody has actually come out and (in my opinion) gave a valid reason about why they have stopped.

The big long rant thread on mwo holds a partial answer. As I understand it the crytek guys who held enough of the licence to build the mod had a meeting with mwo execs at a trade show and received the suggestion that they might want to stop treading on toes, they duly backed off and let the dev team at mwll know that they had a finite time to finish up before the full licence kicked into effect (mwo is still technically running beta stuff).

I suppose it's slightly less shit that they gave them fair warning, and if the MWO guys hold the copyright then they have every right to. I still don't like this sort of thing though.
