Looks quite good but I wish it wasn't Tom Cruise, I just can't take him seriously anymore.Roman Totale wrote:Oblivion

Re: Movie Trailers
Hmm, rest of the trailer aside I don't think his looks suit. I don't believe they have to conform to the Christopher Reeve look, as Brandon Routh kinda did (who I thought was excellent btw), but something feels off. Though I guess it's all part of yet another gritty reimagining...

Re: Movie Trailers
The problem with trailers like that is you can kinda guess the main plot points from it.
Still, I'll probably watch it as it's bound to be a visual spectacle that actually has a bit of substance with Snyder at the helm.

Re: Movie Trailers
Snyder jumped the shark with sucker punch. Such a shame. Hopefully Nolan has kept his head in the game. Looks a bit too gritty for a superman to my mind. I get why they're doing it (it makes lots of money) but Superman wasn't all dark and boding all the time like batman or the watchmen.
I have to say I thought Routh suck a bag of dicks, I would have enjoyed the acting of Christopher Reeve's dead crippled corpse more.

And, I guess to have a new reimagined Superman for the supposedly-forthcoming Justice League film, expect a Green Lantern sequel and The Flash at some time, too.HereComesPete wrote: I get why they're doing it (it makes lots of money)
Re: Movie Trailers
Pacific Rim - Looks like fun and hopefully won't be intelligence insulting like the Transformers films.

Re: Movie Trailers
Wait, what's that computer voice in that trailer? Sly buggers.
Also it's an American made Godzilla movie. Not my cup of tea.

Re: Movie Trailers
I'm gonna go ahead and be the actually guy here. It's not a godzilla film, it's a homage to the crazy giant monster film genre that Japan invented, along with the mechs. Plus I have a lot of fate in it as it's Guillermo del Toro making this.buzzmong wrote:Wait, what's that computer voice in that trailer? Sly buggers.

And yes, that's Ellen Mclain.

Re: Movie Trailers
It's Guillermo del Toro so could have an interesting slant to it. If not, well, mechs vs monsters? Yes please.

Re: Movie Trailers
I don't care that this looks daft, it's got cthulu and friends having a scrap with some super-sentai giganto robots.
Re: Movie Trailers
I'd like to think that, were we ever faced with a giant crab monster eating San Francisco, we'd combat it with huge robots rather than boring conventional weapons like laser guided bombs (and certainly rather than the anti-air missiles they used in Independence Day, what were they thinking?). I wonder if they'll fit in the line 'you monster' for GLaDOS.

Star Trek - Into Darkness (new trailer)

Not sure of the point of pre-trailer trailers - they seem to contain the same amount of footage as each other.

Theory: Cumberbatch is Khan, Spock 'dies' at the end.
Re: Movie Trailers
That certainly does look like a call-back to Wrath at the end there, hands on glass. But we may be on the receiving end of various red herrings regarding Sherlock's character. Kirk certainly can't have upset him by marooning him years ago, not enough time, but they can give him another motivation.mrbobbins wrote:Theory: Cumberbatch is Khan, Spock 'dies' at the end.

Re: Movie Trailers
Someone at work thinks that, because of the Starfleet uniform, he's actually someone called Gary Mitchell, which would be the shittest named villain in a film ever.
Re: Movie Trailers
I can't help but think of EastEnders. Let's hope he has a thick cockney accent and walks around saying things like "I'm gonna do you!"
