Rat Damage Types

Post by Rydis »

Pardon my newbness but where can I find out what damage types certain pirates are susceptible too and what damage types they generally inflict?

Basically I'm looking to go low-sec ratting against Angels with an armour tanking cruiser and want to know what I should be guarding against and what I should be loading.

But if there's somewhere/thing that will show me a big list of whats what for future reference, that'd be aces.

The problem with angels is that they deal all kinds of damage, so it's best to just cover your weak points. As for damae, just fit whatever. I've never been able to figgure out any real weakness to exploit, sorry.

I is also der noob. Suggest you try out in higher sec first.

I've been ratting Sansha's in 0.5 and testing different rockets recently. Foxfire (thermal) and Gremlim (EMP) seem to be the most efficient against them. suggest you do the same against your Chosen Ones. You soon get a feel for which ones kill the bad guys the fastest, although as for the whys, if Hehulk doesn't know then it's prolly a waste of time trying to find out.

OTOH what works against one class of a particular rat clan might not be as good against others. :?

Best piece of advice I got 'bout ratting so far; Web the bastards. That will increase your hit ratio/damage, 'specially if you are fitted for short range.

If you're going to be careful of anything ratting in lowsec space (<0.5), it's other players. Always have a safespot and run like buggery the minute you see someone .. unless it's one of us of course! :ahoy:

I couldnt tell you to be honest, it's shamelessly pilfered from teh eveo forums:
http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard ... dID=278981

I did find another though all by my lonesome:
(again no idea on its RMR veracity but I doubt it)
http://grismar.net/eve/rats/index.php

Though the first one is much easier to read (out of game at least, I think its meant for in game but Ive not tried it), there's an awful lot of stuff linked from here.

(brackets are fun)
