I used pretty much that same phrase in my hat to remind me to take paracetemol with me on parade (fucking hat), and on my phone back in the day to stop me drunkenly ex-texting. Worked for me too.

I have found this that seems to work:
http://www.instantteamspeak.com/teamspe ... status.php

And Grimmie has found a banner/sig type one:

The small banner might integrate with the top of the forum nicely;

The instant teamspeak one would be better suited to the front page.

A pop up with links would be ideal.

Simple enough, it's only a hyperlink. We just need something that you can use as a hyperlink to direct you to TS. Maybe the TS info thread?

I remembered another idea a minute ago too, although it's more of a fun one than a utility - 5punky achievements! A little set of icons, say where your sig would be, for various achievements like going to a bash, falling asleep on TS, posting a blog.

Is this any good for the news reader?

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/nv_newspage/

EDIT: And we used to have something like this on the old board which showed who'd visited today:

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/nv_who_was_here/

This lets us put a Tweet button on posts. Could maybe modify it to a button to Tweet when posting from the 5punk Twitter account?

Is there a way of getting a test forum set up to try some of these things out on? Obviously I don't want to fuck up the live version.

A dummy base-install forum is easy to knock up, but you might want something more representative of the actual forum - like a copy. I'd favour a copy that doesn't use the existing usernames/passwords and runs as a different user without filesystem permissions to the main board just in case some of these plugins have security concerns. Stoat or perhaps spoodie would know if they already have a test area, I confess the last time I looked at the directory structure I was a little lost as to what was live and what wasn't.

All forum moderators are now moderators of all the forums, which is something they have asked us for so they can help tidy up the place and make it more usable for new people. As a result they are no longer listed under each forum, but anyone with a green or orange name is able to moderate any forum, so you can poke any one of us if you would like something doing or a have an idea.

I did that on another forum I moderated on. On a post of approx 1500 words. I only wanted to question one paragraph. I didn't realise until I'd after clicked OK

I usually do it the other way around and end up quoting myself with what was meant to be an edit. Luckily I've always been able to quickly correct that, so no-one knows about it. Oh, until now. Arses.

The top bit needs to be filtered by how many people are playing (so busy games are at the top), and maybe have links to join games, I think that's doable with steam protocol stuff.

Yarp looks good.
With the steam games, Yes some games supply the server details, but not all. Can certainly make it look a bit neater, probably a shortlist which opens on mouseover or something.

I wonder if steamids were stored for each member (like xfire/msn etc were/area) that current status could be shown in the same way it says if someone is online or not - it could say currently in (whatever) game.

Might work nicely mashed in under

Though, to be fair, nothing but Posts is really important to 5punk, so that'd allow a little space for a small banner down there, a'la xfire.

http://steamprofile.com/ could have potential, somehow.
