I'm enjoying Ragnarok quite muchly, but I'm also curious. Wasn't there a thing that allowed for WoW to be done in such a fashion as what is going on with Ragnarok?

Would you be able to use a floorware version of the game? I may give it a go then, although I'd rather contribute to getting stuff happening on BukkakeRO.

Oops, double posting teim.

Yeah, there was a chap called Zac in the tool shop and another one called Blac in the weapons shop. I've only seen either of them once though; Blac had vanished the next time I went in.

Also, kudos on today's game of hide and seek, that was most entertaining.

Making RO Work with Xfire:

Open C:\Program Files\Xfire\xfire_games.ini > Find [4197] > then edit like so:

From
Image
To
Image

Save and restart Xfire, then run find installed software.

These changes will get overwritten when xfire updates, but it's not a difficult fix.

Does this mean the Wizard Skill Master in Prontera will give me my super skill or is this some other Platinum Skill NPC you speak of?

I say rename it to Pr0ntera

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot why I was posting. Grimmie/Berk, what facilities and options are available for you to put in your own custom quests? Can you create locations or warps? I see you can put in custom NPCs, and if I had a bit of knowledge about how quests and such are designed I could write a few for you to put in (being an old tabletop RPG nerd). Maybe something that a level 20-30 bod has a chance of doing, as from looking at the hat quests and the RO entry in GameFAQ everything's considerably higher level than me and I can see people getting bored of grinding before they're ready for most of the quests.

how queer. I was thinking this the other day.
Ive found a server emulator for it, but not had a look at how to set it up etc yet.

Berk, if i can figure it out, could we give it a go? It would need bukkakefying, but i would be more than happy to do all the grunt work on it.

Jinxx: I suppose so? I never knew the "Skill masters" did anything in particular, as far as I knew they just clutter the place up and make everything look really ugly. All I know is that they give you special skills unique to your class, that can only be gained by quests. If you dont want to use them, then there's no need :).. (Edit: No, skill masters teach you something different, apparently. They seem to be new, or just for the eAthena side of the game. I just found 'my' skill master, who wants to teach me "Phantasmic Arrow". My platnum skills are "Create Arrow" and "Arrow Repel". A mage's platinum skill is "Energy Coat".)

Dogpants: Wow, sure. If you want to give coding an NPC a go, then go ahead. I can send you some of the sample stuff that comes with the emulator, so you can cross-reference and make something fancy for the server. I'm a little more confident about putting NPC's in now (I just need to add a .txt file to the athena configuration file! Wooo!)

Groovy :) A few samples would be great as I'm not a brilliant code-monkey but I've done other stuff before. I'll just hack them up and put them together again. Gives me something to do at work too.

I'll make sure my email-a-majig is enabled so you can send them.

BukakkeRO Update
The following NPC's are working

- Sunglasses Quest
- Deadbranch Quest

Edit:
Also, we've got 11 players, and I know others are planning to join.
Do we need a RO forum now, or should we leave it here in Other MMO's?

Ah bums, just looking around the scripting guides and I've noticed that it's all done in SQL. I wish I'd have paid more attention on that SQL course now, instead of building a paper AT-AT.

Oh well, I've taught myself languages before. *sigh*

SQL is pretty easy really.

and look for guides for the text eathena server, we're not using SQL (given that it's bad to be running sql type stuff on gameservers)

I've still not had any luck getting this to work. Anyone know of reliable mirrors for the files needed? Yet to try any MMOs, and the appearance of the word "free" here makes it all teh win for me! :boogie:
