I have fond memories of trying to find a way of marking as many pages as possible with my fingers. Some people saw that as cheating, I like to think of it as an early implementation of the quick save.

Turn to page 107.

You slide into the pit below the cunningly concealed floor tiles and are swiftly eaten by a grue, game over. The forests of Winterlash will be consumed by the evil baron's hordes and your wood elf family will die in the bonds of servitude.

Of course I'm going to keep a finger in the page one or two choices earlier, I don't want my family to die!
