Do you think it requires its own forum or not?

How many of you are playing it?

Is it any good?

How many badgers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Yes, No, 12 registered accounts, sorta, depends on the time of day

^ Pretty much what berk said.
We do have a handful of registered users, but as far as I can tell, some of them have only logged in once. Hehulk and I (What a surprise) seem to be the main users at the moment. If anyone else wants to join I'd be happy to give people a quick show-around?

It's not scary! Honest!

I did the tutorial levels and it said I should be a swordsman. But the man said I couldn't be a swordsman as I didn't meet the prerequisites. Then a cat killed me.

^ Fatherjack:

Yup, swordies are great fun, marching out with a slab of metal strapped to your chest and another one sitting in your hand! He'll have sent you to izlude, a little square looking town where the swordmen reside.

To choose a job, you first need Job level 10 and Basic Skill level 9 (Not to be confused with Base Level!). Do that by stabbing things, hard, over and over again. The fields west of izlude will be a good start, and the fields west once more of that. Then you can hop on back to izlude and turn into a swordie.

If you have any trouble, nudge me!

Just started the downloads, so expect some questions about getting it working properly to follow soon!

Is anyone still playing this by the way?

I play, and as far as I know Hehulk plays.
One of my friends outside of 5punk plays, and fatherjack looks interested.
When we have 5 or 6 people we can all go off and start stabbing things together!

I got warped to the Swordie place right after the tutorial, but I wasn't a high enough level as you say. I'll be back stabbing stuff some time after I get stuck in Dragonshard - probably not long now as I have reached Chapter 4: a new record for me in an RTS game!

Grimmie wrote:How to get BukakkeRO Working
(TESTED!)

Okay, keep checking back here, and wait for the big red text at the top to turn Green,
'cause I'm sure I'll keep revising this list. Only when it says "Complete" should you
start doing this stuff. A'ight?

[EDIT START]
These are from an unassociated download mirror, so installing a download mannager like
GETRIGHT would be a good idea. Otherwise you'll be downloading these collosal files
for seven-hours each. Getright alledgedly allows four download connections at
once. So go and grab it as soon as you can, before downloading!

[EDIT END]

Step 1 )
Download KRO
This is the Korean version of the game.

Step 2 )
Download Sakray
This is the testserver content the greedy Koreans get before anyone else in the world
So we get all the latest stuff.

Step 3 )
Install KRO, and then Sakray, in that order.
The installation menus arent too difficult to figure out - When you have three buttons
at the bottom you have to click the leftmost button, and the middle one will be clickable.
I'm guessing that's the equivalent of an "Accept" button to the eula. Just pretend you can
read korean and finish the installation.

Step 4 )
Install the English Patch doohickey
This will mean you can stop trying to guess what buttons mean when you head off to the
autopatchers in a moment. It should be a case of running the program, choosing where
you installed the game, and letting it do it's stuff. Piece of piss.

Step 5 )
Patch KRO
Go to where you installed the game (C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO) and run "Ragnarok.exe"
A Korean autopatcher should pop up, and a green progress bar should zip around on the
bottom for a good while. Wait till all it shows is "?????????" and then click the far right
button. That will close that patcher.

Step 6 )
Patch Sakray
Now do the same with "sakray.exe".

Step 7 )
No kidding, repeat Step 5 and Step 6.
VERY IMPORTANT. Some KRO Patch data wont download unless Sakray is fully patched,
and vice versa. So make sure you patch both of them twice, or three times.

Step 8 )

Modify "Sclientinfo.xml"
Go to your data folder (C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\data) and open Sclientdata.xml
with something like NOTEPAD. Replace the whole lot with the following code.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="euc-kr" ?>
<clientinfo>
<servicetype>korea</servicetype>
<servertype>sakray</servertype>
<connection>
<display>Bukkake</display>
<desc>None</desc>
<address>217.112.95.67</address>
<port>6900</port>
<version>20</version>
<langtype>8</langtype>
<registrationweb></registrationweb>
<aid><admin></admin></aid>
</connection>
</clientinfo>

Then save it.
(Ps. This IS a code.)

Step 9 )
Open the English version of RO
Go to your start menu and choose "Ragnarok Online (English)" OR go to the folder
you installed it in and open "Run RO.exe".

Step 10 )
Refer to Berk's above post on how to make a character

Step 11 )
Enjoy! Everything should be working fine. Do the tutorial and talk to everyone on your
way around, it's the only way to get really fancy items early on in the game. Good luck!
Well I downloaded the things from the above post as advised, but the first one seemed to be less than 200MB when finished, despite the download window saying 800-odd MB downloaded. Tried to run the installer and it said something about a corrupt file and wouldn't work. So I gave up and went back to the work I should've been doing in the first place. I'll try again in a couple of weeks if I can, but does anyone know of a download that works?

Worked fine for me. I downloaded both files (actually I downloaded the game file twice, one with getright and one with firefox by accident :oops: ) in one morning. Don't know if it's unusual for it to be so quick/reliable.

I shall install this afternoon.

Ragnarok Online now has it's own post icon, and has been added as a listed game on the 5cheduler.

Might be a good time to 5chedule a game and build interest in the game.

Rah! I've done the tutorial and got a few levels and stuff. The bloke at the end told me I should be an Acolyte, but I wanted to be a swordsman. I'm having second thoughts though - an Acolyte would be useful. How many other people want to play mindless thugs? Not many = I go swordsman, lots = I go Acolyte. Balance things out eh what?

EDIT: I went Acolyte, I am the vicar with Tourettes. SHEEP!

That was fantastic! Great fun to run up and bum with my uber-speed-buff*. I enjoy dying in this game, it's sort of a counterpoint to Eve.

*Not really that uber
