The snappers knew we were there, right? Anyone reckon it would be a good idea to go and say hi, and ask what happened with the deal?

Back on straight road, one of the van's back doors swings open and an unarmoured guy in civilian clothing appears waving a large pistol of some sort. It's hard to say what it is at this distance while driving.

Joose, at this speed you're holding your distance. You can make another roll to accelerate up to whichever speed you want, or to start swerving to make yourself a harder target (additional -2) or both if you like. Same goes for you Deej, although you're steadily catching up now.
I'll hold steady, I'm not in the mood and I doubt he's that great of a shot. If he gets close I will consider it.

Yeah, I'm just going to go for being a harder target. Even if I caught up to him, I'm not sure what I could do to make him stop.

Roll(2d10)-1:
6,6,-1
Total:11

Jesus. I'm driving at the sodding edge of my skill here, I really am.

The machine pistol blazes wildly in his hand as he hangs onto the careening van with the other. You hear a loud dink which could be a bullet or could be a stone, you can't tell. At any rate the car seems to be handling fine. Any changes to anyone's manoeuvring?

For you, about 350m. Joose is hanging back at 100m.

I'll try to close the distance, changing up to Racing Speed!

Drive, Motorcycle (3) - Racing (4): 2, 10 + -1 = 11 :whew:

You do indeed close up (with Joose I'm assuming). The bloke in the back of the van opens up again but neither of you notice any damage.

Are we going to need to herd them in some way to get them where eraser wants them, or is that just the direction they are going in at the moment anyway?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your flashy car has a built in nava-map. It currently shows you heading west along 75th street, but to do any more analysis on it I'd like another driving roll and a navigation roll please.

You reckon you need to horse the van to make a right turn in about three blocks.

Would it be possible to get in front of the van before then at Racing speed?

Yeah, now you're caught up the speed difference between the van and you guys is so much that anything above cruising will get you past. Assuming he lets you.

As you go to pass him he tries to sideswipe you but mistimes it badly. The van swings wildly from one side of the road ahead of you, easily avoided with a little brake, and mounts the pavement. A parked taxi is smashed aside as the van careens back across the road. Losing his grip, the guy with the SMG is hurled from the back doors and rolls with limbs flailing for a little while before coming to a halt. Reaching the other side the van embeds itself in the front of a convenience store with a bang loud enough for the rest of the squad to hear it.

Go-go spectacular failrolls!

There's not a whole lot of movement in the shop front. The van has gone about sex feet in and actually looks in surprisingly good shape. There are some people at the back of the shop cowering in shock, a girl screaming among them, and another girl picking her way forward to where there are some more, prone, diners. All the walking wounded look to have suffered minor cuts and bruises. You can't see into the cab from your angle without going into the shop.
