It's incredibly biased towards vehicles to the extent that if you're not in one you're fucked. Doesn't help that RPG/SMAW suck, even when hitting targets from behind, which is difficult to do on a map where cover isn't widely available.
SOFLAM and Javelin, old son. A couple of teams in a decent spot out of the way should be able to really suppress the aircraft and keep the armour's head down. Rare that anyone does, but on the occasions I've teamed up with a Recon on that map I've been hammering the jockeys with pretty much impunity, until my ammo runs out at least.

Well yes, the only time it's not really annoyed me was when I was playing with yourself and Roman (?) and we did just that, soflammed and jav spammed the enemy team into submission.

Sadly, public teamplay is very rare.

Nothing exciting or interesting really, but if you have any Alienware love and you don't have it already, you can get an Aware Dog Tag at http://www.alienwarearena.com/giveaway/ ... -giveaway/

In my defence i do have an Aware laptop - the NutRoaster 2000 - many a moon playing BF2 on that badboy - Shame that i am so weak now i can barely lift the poxy thing.

Why not, dogtag whore that I am. Not that I'd ever buy an Alienware, but the teeth on the tags look like my own.

Is there a joke in there about British dentistry? (which admittedly I never really understood)

There could be. More a joke about me falling over and getting punched in the mouth though.

Sometimes, some matches really do go your way. :D

Also worth reading is the reddit thread regarding changes to the attachments for all the guns.

Me and a friend take to the soflam and javalin rape duo sometimes, and it's pretty wizard.

However since the last update bf3 has been crashing on me all the time now. It's infuriating.

Have you checked if you have UPnP enabled in your router? I had very very few crashes before the patch, but after the patch I could not get a complete round in - probably about 15 mins or so then a crash. Disabled UPnP in the router settings and not had a crash yet.

Also, turn off Xfire if you haven't yet.

Jets are a bit unbalanced aren't they?

Crap against anything on the ground until you unlock rocket pods, can be splatted out the air really easily by helicopters using AA missiles which in turn, are extremely hard to kill with the cannon and basically immune to AA rockets if they've got ECM.
Conversely, once jets get ECM and rockpods, they become hard to kill and quite effective.

In short, I should have focused on flying when the game launched, it's even harder now.

They do seem a bit shit until they're in the hands of an experienced flyer, but surely that's no bad thing? Keeps them from being squabbled over, although it would be nice to have cover against helicopters on many games. Ground attack was always tricky for me because I can't see anything until I'm almost on them, and I don't seem to be able to see anything spotted. But then I've never been great with jets. I agree about the helis though, they do seem to have a very easy time shooting down jets.

I killed a dice guy not too long ago. Didn't get his tags though.

I did however get to use the kit which had extra unlocks thrown in. The pistol had suppressor and flashlight. Shame I got killed before seeing what else he was toting.

Nice. Works well for them too, they never have to play on an empty server.

Some of us were having a discussion the other night (alright, Pete and I were) about how the hackzors were getting silly points, and guns having more kills than shots fired.

Well, this is how it's done:

Rather pointless isn't it?

That is slightly bizarre. The only reasons i can see behind it are 1) you don't have the time / skill to unlock the bits and bobs for all guns 2) you want to disrupt a public server. Other than that, i can't massively see any enjoyment from that.

Never thought about the more kills than bullets killed stat - not sure if it is possible to kill 2 people with one bullet - i guess you can with frag rounds - but surely the powers that be can run a script on the database, and anyone who has an unrealistic ratio gets their account suspended / nuked.
