I am highly intrigued with all the changes in Windows 8 but I'm cautiously excited. This recent post on the MSDN blog about the setup process is quite interesting.

Re: Windows 8
You can download a dev preview if you want to have a play http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516
Re: Windows 8
Anery's missus gave me a preview last month. It's a funny old thing, with a similar GUI to the Windows 7 Phone. Seems like an odd thing to use for a server interface as it looks like it's kind of designed with touch screens in mind. Still, generally their next edition is an upgrade over the last, unless you count ME or Fista.
Re: Windows 8
I got given a Windows 7 based tablet at a developer conference, which unsurprisingly was close to useless. Stuck Windows 8 on it when the dev preview became available and even though it's still got a few bugs, they all seem to be UI glitches rather than huge system breaking stumbling blocks. It's rather nippy, boots nearly instantly and works well on a touchscreen. Not tried it with mouse and keyboard yet, but apparently the current state of it includes a lot of the touchscreen stuff and less of the usual Windows point and click-ness.
