I have a GTX 560 Ti as well (that's what you've got right?). Everything is fine apart from the permanent minimising. I've got the latest drivers installed and running no overlay apps, xfire, fraps, etc. Annoying but it does save some of my stats from the dead game.

That's the card I have, yeah. I am not running any overlaying programs either, apart from origin. The general consensus was that the drivers were no good as it only seems to happen with nvidia cards that don't overheat.

Who's snaggletooth? I have no idea who that is, so I'll probably leave it up to you guys to accept him in.

That's Shot2Bits.

Last night was a moderate success. Struggled to get the server over about 15 people, but a good time was had by all it would appear. Map rotation is a work in progress but nothing seemed horribly broken.

:w00t:

I was going to complain about that. Managed to get my game to run for more than 10-15 mins by turning off the in-game stuff and notification in Origin. Then drive around the map for 5 mins. With no horn! :shakefist:

/edit
Fix didn't fix, it's just as bad. I must have got lucky with one game.

Funnily enough it disappeared off my favourites too, but as far as I can tell it's up. I'll give it a kick anyway.

Getting timed out 1-2 times per game, fucking annoying.

Any way to increase numbers on our server? Forum posts perhaps?

Not being dicks, or appearing to be dicks, on our server is a good start. We go back to EBS in BACON because they play casually, don't act like dicks, and kick people who do. Calling people names, even if they're doing something wrong, makes other players think you're just another gobshite admin. Abusing our own admins makes us all look like a bunch of smack-talking idiots. It might be tongue in cheek on TS, but for people who aren't it can feel like they're being victimised because there's no in-game chatter. Try to make statements in chat, make funnies. EBS often had a target of the night who seemed to take good-hearted ribbing well and would include them in their internal pisstakings, and often they ended up signing up. It's a fine balance, but I think that's what we should be aiming for. EBS are more clanny than we are, but we can offer our spin on more casual gaming.

I wonder if it's worth advertising the fact we have health regen turned off. Medics and engineers benefit a lot from not having it, we might attract them.

As petty as it sounds, servers that don't have www.websitename.com in them seem to fill up better. I suppose it's because ultimately people are just looking for a server - they don't care who it belongs to. If they enjoy the atmosphere, like on EBS, then they'll care and will come back.

If possible I reckon we change the name to:

5punk Public Server - Mixed Rush and CQ

Boring as fuck I know, but that's what people look for.

At the moment it's set to 5punk Gaming - All Over Your Face - No Regen. But you might be right about keeping it descriptive. I know I look for random servers with mixed mode in BACON.

EDIT: Now reads "5punk Public Server - Mixed CQ/Rush - No Regen"

1.5 hours of trying to just complete a normal game. Between getting timed out, getting in at the end of rounds or ones that are complete cluster fucks, trying to find servers that aren't full or empty, and which don't cause me to rubber band, I haven't had one enjoyable game. :(
