BLEEDOUT

Post by TheJockGit »

Steam announced a new Free to Play this evening called BleedOut by CrimeCraft. Looking at the trailers and such it peaked my interest enough to download and have a go at it.

Unfortunately...

Though it looks good (from what I have seen) I never got a chance to play. It seems that the only FTP ferver they have is called Exeter and it's full.. forcing you to pay to get access to the other servers.

This is either poor planning by the Crimecraft guys by not expanding the server for the influx of Steam users that were bound to have tried, or a very poor marketing ply to try and get people to pay for what is advertised as free to play.

Anyone had any luck with it ? I am wanting to try because the premise looks different and it could actually be quite good. :?

I've downloaded it, and yes you're right, they've currently only got one free server.

Which is chuffing ridiculous. It's made even worse by the fact there's no actual log on queue for full servers.

I had a quick gander on their forums. They're aware of the "server issues" and working to "rectify" them. No mention of adding adding F2P servers. I hope they do otherwise it'll be a perfect example of what not to do when you suddenly advertise yourself to over 3 million active users.

Edit: Success! Made it in game. Character creator is severly lacking in options. I hope customisation exists in the actual game (even if it's RMT based), as otherwise everyone will look really similar.

Char name: Buzzles.

Good news! You can run around in your underwear!

Also in view here is the steam effect. The newbie area is packed out, there's lag when you click on the vendors, 20-30 seconds, so if you do play and get it, click once and be patient.

That sounds like a complete and utter waste of time. I'd rather punch myself in the dick.

I have to say, this log in/npc lag is quite silly.

I'd say wait until they put some new servers up before you try this game, otherwise it's just boring having to wait to do the starter quests.

Chat is...very special, but it was in the newbie area. Thankfully however it is just contained in that little box and there's no in world pop ups or anything.

There's also some sort of group/guild system, and the chat can be set to that so you shouldn't be exposed if you don't want to..

Still...deffo wait for a few days. I exepct that the sole server that's going live tomorrow will be fullup as soon as it launches, but at least the devs have stated that after tomorrow they'll be able to add new servers within 48 hours.

I'm banking on people being attached to their characters, so I'll delete my current one in favour of the new server if it proves to not be full up.

Haha, yes, as predicted, new server is full from the get go

Methinks the dev's management is either tight for cash or tightfisted gits. Informal posts from the Community staff on their forums say they're adding more. Hopefully more than just one this time.

FWIW, Vogster have *finally* added more servers if people are still interested in trying this game.

Edit: Tranferred my character to the new Cabrese server.
