I follow on twitter, read his blog every now and then and have read quite a few of his books.

I like his take on the current zombie situation here

If I had to use zombies as a metaphore for a social issue like previous directors/writers, I'd address the chav epidemic.

Zombies have redeeming features - they don't sponge off the state, steal everything and stab you up for a bus tickets worth of pocket change.
