Quakecon steam pack (blimeh!)

Post by buzzmong »

I've just seen the Quakecon pack on steam, it's seriously good. Seriously good.

If it wasn't for the fact I bought the ID pack on offer a couple of years ago (so own 3/4 of the titles), I'd snap that bastard up as it's a combination of Bethesda titles with ID ones.

What does the 1/4 of new stuff consist of?

With the packs, they sometimes reduce the individual games enough to make them worthwhile buying separately too.

It's got:

BRINK
Call of Cthulhu®: Dark Corners of the Earth
Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
Fallout New Vegas + Dead Money, Honest Hearts and Old World Blues dlc
Hunted: The Demon’s Forge™
Rogue Warrior
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition Deluxe
Quake IV

Stuff that I think's in the previous ID pack:
Commander Keen
DOOM 3
DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil
DOOM II
Final DOOM
Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
HeXen II
HeXen: Beyond Heretic
HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel
Master Levels for Doom II
QUAKE
QUAKE II
QUAKE II Mission Pack: Ground Zero
QUAKE II Mission Pack: The Reckoning
Quake III Arena
QUAKE III: Team Arena
QUAKE Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon
QUAKE Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Spear of Destiny
The Ultimate Doom
Wolfenstein 3D

It's currently £49.99 in the sale, but apparently if you preorder RAGE, you'll get another 30% off that.

I've got 90% of those already. Luckily I can resist the TF2 hat.

Installed Quake 1, to try it out after many year away, it took about 5 seconds. Now that's a proper install time.

While I was at Uni, I actually played through all of Quake II including the mission packs for the first time. Gameplay wise Q2 still holds up quite well.
