The Stanley Parable

Post by Legoshoes »

Notch posted this on twitter. This is a fantastic source mod. The less you know about it before playing, the better.

See, that's a dirty trick. Makes it sound all creepy horror and makes me want to have a go. Which it might be, because I don't know anything about it.

I think RPS mentioned this briefly in one of their mod watching posts as one to watch a little while back, haven't a clue what it is about though.

Hohoho, I like. Great voicework.
The trailer suggests there's stuff I still haven't seen, so back I go.

Apparently there are 6 endings, I think I found five.
The "Don't do what he tells you" ending is genius.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something here, but I've no idea how to actually run this using SourceSDK. I can't be arsed downloading HL2 just to play it.

I think you'll need HL2 as it uses some assets.
Oh, SDK 2007 should be enough, apparently.

It says you just need to put the files in /sourcemods and restart steam.

Very clever stuff, without being too arty-farty. Genuine lols after being taken into the "other" map.

This is correct, as far as i can tell it will install the SDK upon running the game through steam if you havnt already installed it.
