I see a few DDOS on the horizon in response to this.

Film industry failing to move with the times. They need to bow to the inevitable and change their service model to appeal to the new demographic.
I still can't legitimately download a film and watch it on any media device I own. I can do this with music - iTunes, Spotify etc are doing fine - but my films are restricted to one license on the first machine it finds. Answer? Pirate the fuckers.

I found a link to an illegal download on Google. I was horrified naturally and have written to my MP asking him to block Google as it clearly just exists to serve as an aggregator for illegal content.
I mean they shouldn't just block NNTP, or shut down the news servers hosting all this illegal content, that would be stupid.

Oh no! One of the multiple places on the internet that you can search through usenet on might be made slightly harder to access!
How have they not twigged yet that trying to stop piracy by taking down individual sites is like trying to kill a swarm of bees with a handgun?

Hehe that's the best analogy I've seen.Joose wrote:How have they not twigged yet that trying to stop piracy by taking down individual sites is like trying to kill a swarm of bees with a handgun?

Plus, they may end up shooting all the people standing near the bees. nzb2 seems to think they can break cleanfeed...

I'm fairly sure Nzb won't need to figure it out. Chances are, if people are smart enough to configure Nzb in the first place, they'll find their own way around any attempted blockages.
