Brave - A teaser for Pixar's next one

War Horse - Spielberg's new one, based on a highly rated play which uses impressive life-size horse puppets. This looks like saccharin bullshit.

Re: Movie Trailers
I was going to post the new Mission Impossible trailer, but I genuinely felt brain damaged after watching it.

Mrs. Johnson is going to love this one, she's always been complaining about not having a ginger Disney heroine since the little mermaid.spoodie wrote:Brave - A teaser for Pixar's next one

Re: Movie Trailers
I kind of get sigh, but at the same time it's got some real talent in there. It might turn out to be quite good.
Re: Movie Trailers
Yeah, some interesting actors involved. Is it considered a sacrilege to make a film of the book or something? I'm only aware of the title.

Re: Movie Trailers
It's probably the greatest line up of actors ever seen in a film. A TV series was already made of it, with the impeccable Alec Guinness as George Smiley - no one could ever really replace him (John le Carre even said he started to characterise Smiley after watching AG in the adaptation). The sigh from me was partly the fact that Gary Oldman appears to be doing an Alec Guinness impression (a fresh approach would have been better) and that there is too much plot to condense into a 2hr+ film. I have a horrible feeling they'll also try and make it "sexy" - I hope to god I'm proved wrong though, as this would be the perfect anathema to the aforementioned bollocksfest that is Mission Impossible.
Despite sounding negative, I'm actually really looking forward to it - it's just Oldman playing Guinness that makes me wary.

Ewan McGregor didn't do a very good job of it.Roman Totale wrote:Despite sounding negative, I'm actually really looking forward to it - it's just Oldman playing Guinness that makes me wary.

I didn't know there was such a thing, that's going on the rental list. TaRoman Totale wrote:A TV series was already made of it

It's like a Cuban Shaun of the dead.

Actually, I think it is a Cuban Shaun of the dead.

Re: Movie Trailers
Heh, looks interesting.
I've now seen some of the original Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy TV series and it's very good. A little baffling due to spy language and intrigue, but well worth persevering.

Re: Movie Trailers
That looks awesome. Somewhere between Shaun and Dawn by the looks of it. Shame about the fast zombies.

New Tintin trailer (best quality I could find at the moment):

It doesn't look to bad actually, like Indiana Jones for kids.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Oooh! I really liked the first one, and this looks pretty good too. Also nice to see girl from original 'Girl With A...' films get some Hollywood time.
Edit: I also like one of the comments on there:

Re: Movie Trailers
I remember reading about it a while back, but up until now there hasn't been much publicity about it. I can't stop listening to the song used in the trailer (a Peter Gabriel cover of an Arcade Fire song if anyone is interested).Joose wrote:Oh hells yeah! How did this one sneak up on me?

Pirates and stop-motion; two of my favourite things combined at last!

Oh, and apparently Brian Blessed plays 'the pirate king' in this, it wouldn't surprise me if they wrote the role for him.
