as of 3:17 (13/12) we have 4 Days 17Hrs worth of fuel in the POS, only had a couple of gate camps to contend with and one of them was a piss weak attempt.
The other one I was being smiled on as I got a message as I jumped saying not to jump... the reason for this became apparent when I apeared on the other side and was faced with many ships. Thankfully I got dumped just outside their warp scrambler and so continued on my way quite happily.

Abuse was distributed evenly in local

\me is worried by all these gate camps

For those who weren't there to hear my indecision last night: I have a hold full of ammo for the POS guns (60,000 rounds), but with only me (in an indy) and MysterLee (in a BC) and neither of us having attempted a journey like this before we decided to abort our run.

If we're to be shipping stuff from Empire (specifically fuel), we need to either get people competent and confident enough to make this run alone or have a system for scouts/escorts to make sure the cargo is safe. It all seemed a bit cavalier last night.

Alternatively, if I'm just being over cautious, then somebody alleviate my concerns and I'll make a dash as soon as I have the time.

I have to agree with Mr Pantaloons on this one narf, especially after Bluebottle VII got popped last night (may she rest in pieces) and I insta-podded back to Berta. And this was with a scout and bs in support. Options as I see are as follows:

1. Marginis (not so) Express - There seems to be an issue with the timetable here.
2. Joint ops with some of the other ISS corps doing the run - safety in numbers but very difficult to organise.
3. Carefully planned and executed corp ops - this has worked once but at o'stupid o'clock in the morning. To make runs at more civilised hours we need more robust tactics.
4. Loan runs (like Fab) in the middle of the night - I'd be happy to do a few of these as of Friday when I am on leave (hurrah)!

Just my 2 cents...but we haulers are the ones to pay the price if/when a run goes wrong.

Honestly, I think those are the best two options. Your not wrong when you say there's safety in numbers. Would you want to camp a gaate when a 30 man fleet just jumped in? (unless they had a 30 man fleet themselves, but there's dead easy to spot and track on the map)

Corp ops are also a good idea. Just get most/all of the corp in one place (IE the POS), and run an escort run up to empire and back. with the instas, and assuming you'd already assembled the fuel, it wouldn't take a large amount of time.

finially, the haulers are always going to be the first target, unfortunatly. If your running an escort for a couple of haulers there's usually a damn good reason. On the plus side atm we're only hauling POS fuel, so if we lose it, it's not going to be finicially disastrous.

For whom? ;)

The next few weeks are gonna be critical. Until we get that POS up and a few good mining ops and successful runs back to empire, we ain't gonna rectify the situation either. Have we got enough capital (either corp or collectively) to bare the brunt of inevitable losses until then?

If not, let us know and we can mitigate the situation by means of a concerted cash inject - ie. I'll trade like a bitch for a couple of days while the miners mine and the ratters...erm..rat.

Other mitigating factors could include having a clutch of spare haulers complete with basic mods built and in held in corp storage at Berta/Maspa. And I intend to move my Blackbird down to the POS shortly since it has remote capabilities for damage repair and mod onlining.

Initial end state:

1. Cash buffer to make minor losses acceptable.
2. Confidence all round in travelling the route Berta-Marginis-5punkspace.

Robotics would be best for the next run as that has the lowest remaining time of everything

For the next big run I will scout ahead in sneaky bastard so we know exactally what we're running into

mmm....badger stock. You could make a nice soup from that.

BTW, could you stick a post up detailing what exactly a 'day's worth of fuel' is. I have no idea, but looking at what was in the POS it's all sorts of odd stuffs. Oh , and what kind of ammo do the gunz use?

ammo for guns is the size class above i think,

ie small projectile weapon arrays need medium proj rounds, mediums need large, and large needs XL rounds. dont know if theres POS missile batterys, and i assume the laser/blaster/railgun situation is the same

scary thought, how far could a large POS projectile turret fire when fitted with carb lead (+40%)

I think there are POS missile batteries, don't the large ones fire capital missiles?
