Spec me a monitor, bitches!
Samsung are a gaggle of cunts.
My old monitor broke a while back, and they sent me a new one within days as it was in warranty. Apparently they took liberties with their definition of new. It's now died, after about 3-4 months of use, and they're counting my warranty as expired, going by the original purchase, and not by their replacement.
Arses to them.
I need a new 24" (1920x1200) monitor, thin black frame, non-glossy.
Suggestions?

i quite like my benq's in the office, but they are old, and showing it a bit. Still good colours but going a bit dim etc. I dunno about the new ones.
Dell seem mostly decent, although my 24" makes an annoying whiney noise when viewing something with lots of little bits of black and white, like an excel spreadsheet.

In regard to 1920x1200, ask yourself two questions first. 1) Do you want LED back lighting for a thinner profile and low power? 2) Do you want the best IPS panel technology for the best picture quality and wide view angles?
At the moment if you answer yes to both of those then it's going to cost a lot. Even at 1920x1080 you'll pay a premium.
There are exceptions. The majority of LED monitors use TN panels which are lower quality and have poor view angles (some so much even sitting directly in front won't stop colour shifting at the sides), but there are some which are adequate or better. LED back lighting does plays a part in improving picture quality over a CCFL backlit TN monitor.
I can't recommend a specific monitor in the 1920x1200 range, they're becoming a scarce beast, but see if you can find a cheap Dell UltraSharp. Check the first couple of paragraphs for other possibilties.

They don't seem to make any 1920x1080 anymore, such is its dying statebuzzmong wrote:Try some looking at some iiyama's. Not had any problems with them at all.

I like my Dell and Overclockers have an offer on this week. I paid £260 last July - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =MO-046-DE
It's only a measly 23" though.
