Thoughts?
Rather than spend too much time making it look authentic, we could get Lloyd Langley down here to take some "selective" footage, then he could follow us to find these big mutant Carrien. It will look great on the TV. We could even get people from Department of Works in here, so if anyone questions how Carrien got in here we could say the breach has already been fixed.

IC Eraser is letting Dirk and Grimmie make the decisions.

OC, lets just offer our services to the red responders, kill the carrien and say the mutant carrien were responsible for the massacres.

Right then, let's get the ball rolling.
Dirk to Daniels wrote:Mr. D, we're going to get a camera crew over here to take some shots - stills only so we can control what the viewer sees. We've got a contact with Third Eye, Lloyd Langley, so I'll get him to send a small crew down here. Is it possible you can get a could a couple of bods from the the Department of Works, or at least people who look like them, to come over and make a show of fixing up the "Carrien breach"?

We're going to ask Lloyd and his own camera crew to come with us. There's trouble on a gauss line with some super-Carrien, and we're going to make it look like it was something to do with them.

So, we get pictures of the lab getting repaired after being smashed by Carrien; we get footage of the Carrien themselves getting taken down; and finally we get Langley to spin it that DarkNight were feeding the things Shatter. Good result all round.

Any objections to our plan?

Sorry guys, I've been totally out of things for a bit. Could you autopilot Grimmie and his bullets of death while I get my shit sorted?

Dirk wrote:He owes us one as far as I'm concerned. Besides he'd have to ask himself which he'd prefer: the official line and a nice easy story for him; or digging around for a story and making Karma, and therefore SLA, look bad.

I'd appreciate it though if you could send a little note to the Third Eye producers thanking them for a "professionally covered story". We deal with Langley a fair bit, and to get him on side for things like this will pay dividends for us all.
Persuasion: 4,8,+5 = 17

Now to speak to the man himself.
Dirk to LL wrote:Lloyd, Dirk here. We've picked up a nice story for you - funnily enough off the back of that last job you sent our way. Your woman who issued that job died (long story), but now we're about to bust a bunch of mutant Carriens who've trashed a Karma lab.

If you're interested I need someone to take some still photos in the lab. Listen up though because these are some serious Karma high rollers - your man is only to take pictures where he's told and not to ask any questions.

You get the exciting job though - join us with a cameraman and get footage of these mutant Carrien getting taken down. There's another squad already tasked with taking them down - there has been some cross over on cases, but I'm going to give them a call now and let you know where we'll be.
Assuming I have the other squads contact details (or if not them their Financier) I'll give them a call:
Dirk wrote:Hello, Dirk Gently here of SLA Ops squad Five Punk. I believe you're currently assigned to take down a bunch of mutant Carrien that have been messing with the Gauss trains. Coincidentally those same mutants are also responsible for a case we're working, and we'd like to help you take them down.

Don't worry, we're not looking in any way to cut in on your BPN or the proceeds from it - we're offering our help for free. Not only that but we can probably get you some decent media footage.

What do you say?

Mr Daniels wrote:Okay, your call. I'll send down one of our retained squads with a couple of them in overalls. They should be able to whip that up. They'll stop any real mosters who might mess up your camera crew in the factory. Then they can clean up.
Langley wrote:D! Great to hear you didn't take that last little mix up personally. I think I've got just the girl for the job. You've met Mina, right? New Parisian, Media Op, great ass? Although the Carrien bashing is more her thing, I might do the bit with the stills. Send me your location and we'll get a man and a van and a can.
Cube Face squad leader wrote:Woah, mutant carriens? Shit man. We only just replaced two guys from regular ones. So what's it you want? We're just about to go down there.

Dirk to Daniels wrote:Mr. D, Langley is on his way to the factory now. I'd get your people to keep close to him - I don't think he'll do anything stupid, but he is a climber in the sense he'll try and find a scoop anywhere.
Now to Cube Face dude.
Dirk wrote:Just give us your location and the location of the Carriens - we'll meet up and formulate a plan.

Are we splitting up into two groups then? One to "help" the Cube Face guys and one to "help" Lloyd Langley and Mina?

I don't like leaving Langley on his own at the Karma lab, but I think we need all hands on deck for the Carrien. Unless we could autopilot Spindle or Brainrot to chaperone him.

I'll give you Brainrot since Bali has had some involvement.
