Nvidia or ATi

Post by Hehulk »

I just can't make my mind up. Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra (the XFX version) or the X800 XT-PE Card (sapphire).

Help...

Personally, I'd say ATi.

Look up some benchmark tests on the net, and match the games they test with each card.

Between 6800 Ultra and X800XT-PE, the ATi is faster, but I believe it's also a lot more expensive. As long as they're close in price, get the ATi. If not, the GeForce is probably a better buy.

One thing you might look at is an X800GTO, as it's basically the same as an XT but much cheaper.

I voted 6800 cos I have Nvidia,

Plus: the Nvidia card does Pixel Shader 3 and DX9.0c, the ATI does not.

6800 is the better value buy right now, but I expect new X1000 cards will push the X800's price down to a competitive level.
