If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Wireless Headsets

Post by deject »

I know some of you guys wanted to find a wireless headset with a microphone. I may have found one, but I'm not sure if it works with PCs.

http://www.plantronics.com/europe_union ... od29780013

also, they're not cheap.

edit: guy on a forum claims they do work with a PC. anyone want to try it out? :P

They're Bluetooth so they should work fine. The next model down's £58, which isn't bad. I've just bought a new headset or else I'd have been tempted. Nice find there.

I have some bluetooth headphones, These ones infact.
I know these arent designed for games, but i find that the lag between the pc and the sound coming out is not good enough.
I would guess that that is down to the limitations of the bluetooth system, and would be across all types of headset. I may be wrong, but £60 its quite a lot of money to spend risk ezperimenting.

Big difference between headphones and headset though.

well, now that I have purchased a Bluetooth adapter for my PC, I have tried unsuccessfully tried out my nice Cardo S2's as a wireless headphone/mic setup. Like I feared, I can't get it to use the stereo audio mode and the microphone at the same time. Also, the sound when using the headset mode what incredibly poor.

As above, fine for voice, wouldn't use it for games. Sound quality is usually quite poor.
Just go for standard wireless headphones (IR or RF)

i fear the side-effects of a wireless headset may include brain-melting.

that is similar to my Cardo S2's. The problem with Bluetooth is that there isn't a profile for stereo sound at the same time as a mic in. I don't think Bluetooth currently has the bandwidth for that kind of setup, so I guess we'll have to wait for an update to Bluetooth.

Hi guys....i m new here i just shared with all of u that I got Plantronics Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset. I've used it to listen to music on the computer, take part in live meetings and record screen captures for playback later. It's worked extremely well at each of these tasks.

Thanks for such a informative sharing..........

Did someone edit that link or is it really a spammer trying to flog microphones?
