40k games at Beardbash

Post by Joose »

It has been suggested that we have a few games of 40k at the beard bash, which I think would be a cracking idea. It would be something we could do in early morning slots, when maybe not everyone has emerged from sleepytiem. I'm thinking low points cost, partly to ensure people have enough doods, partly so it doesn't take all day. I'm attempting to put 500 points worth of tau together, could everyone manage that?

Also, a possibly lolsome suggestion of a 50 point game has come about, due to an inspiring typo  It should be just enough points for one decent squad, which would make a very short, very odd game. Pretty sure anyone with any amount of models should be able to manage that.

I think I've only played once, so I'll need my hand holding through the whole process.
I have the necron codex, troops, and a HQ.

If everyone else is interested too, I'll crack out my paints and get going.

The obvious solution would be to start playing. Problem solved!

I just sold all my stuff except for one tau battle suit that got through to the semi-finals at golden demon about five years ago.

And my mum dropped it anyway :(

I dont think I have any of my 40k stuff left either, although I do still have a large badly painted epic army kicking around somewhere. I also have this: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3170/horus-heresy which i bought years ago and have still never played.

I think I could dust down my Imperial Guardsmen for a game. My rule book is probably about 3 editions behind though.

I have all the rools that I found whilst sweeping the floor one day. I can "lend" them to those that need them.

I have a 600pt IG infantry company which is probably shit. I've never used it, but did enjoy painting it.

I also have Necromunda with at least three gangs.

Battle Royale, everybody picks a special character and you put em in an arena and let em duke it out. It's cheap and you can pick on the person who you like the least.
