I'll attempt to grab him before he makes it off.

For reference for everyone else, that was a super exciting touch attack.

Luckily that sort of attack disregards armour. You sling your staff around his neck and pin him back against you. He squeals like a stuck pig.

If we are, I'd like to put my torch in a wall-holder so I have both hands free, after searching it for traps, first:

You're fairly certain there aren't any traps, hock out the unused torch and slam your own in the holder.

All the hustle and bustle has died down, there are a few guttural grunts coming from the other side of the wall you're facing, but nothing either Glibberig or Forenrond can make out.

Shankley, ask him what all that was about. I'm getting tired of attempting to talk to a wall.

Unsurprisingly he doesn't seem to want to talk any more.

I'll release him, since he's absolutely useless.

He darts left, and then right, running out of sight, screaming as he does so.

A deep, gruff Orcish voice booms from the opposite side of the wall.
It seems to be yelling in common, loud enough for you all to hear.

That right there is some Bardic Music - Inspire Courage in this instance. Everyone receives +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects, and +1 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

This will last for as long as I keep playing/singing and for 5 rounds thereafter. I think I'll only stop if a clear shot opens up or something else happens.

Looks like this guy isn't coming to us after all. I'll approach the door to the right with a view to listen at it or peer through the keyhole.
