They're here....They've come.....

Post by Hehulk »

OK, so for the last month I've been rattling on about al these nice new T1 ship overhauls (OMFG Cyclones FTW!!111!?1111), but in the last few days details have started emerging about the new T2 ships and they're much larger companions The Titans, The Carriers And The Motherships.

Starting with the T2 stuff:

t2 Barges: not ahuge ammount of difference here. same amount of lows and highs as their T1 versions, but they do have an extra 3 mid slots (meaning 4 now) and improved resistances. I don't know if there's going to be any bonuses linked to the elite mining barge skills (which, by the way needs barge 5, industry 5 and electronics 5), but with the new mining upgrade modules adding a 5% veld bonus per one, and a medium slot item, does make them look somewhat worthwhile. they've also got improved cargobay sizes (can't remebr small or medium, but the large one has 6K M3 instead of 4)

horse Recons: Mostly EW cruisers. Very very nasty support ships. The Caldari are getting a nasty T2 blackbird called the rook. Appart from all the standard T2 bonuses (uber resits, moer armour/shield, etc) it's getting a 10% bonuses per FR (horse Recon) lv to jammer strength.
The Minmatar are getting a lovely litle belicose version with (you guessed it) a bonus to target painters. It's also going to have an ability of far more value. 100% bonus per FR lv to webbefier range. That'll stop any tackler dead that'll. The Ammarian and Gallante ones, I've not looked at so much, so I can't really remeber anything to dow ith them.

Recon: Speedy T2 Cruisers with bonuses to cyclosian fields. Also hard as nails in a fight, but not quite as bad as the HACs.

Interdectors: Very speedy T2 Destroyers. Appart from the fact that they're designed to destroys frigs are range, they've got a neat litle toy that'll be able to deploy warp bubbles and suck passing ships out of warp. That makes it far far more power that those mobile warp disruptors, which only stop a ship enering warp. They would also have that effect I'd imagine.

Command Ships: Where HACs were the ultimate solo-pwn mobile before, command cruisers rob them of that. Without a doubt, these are gona be the cutting edge of nasty for the comming months. Properly fitted, your looking at 6K of shield (or armour, or hull. whatever your preference is) with 80%+ resists across the board. The ship bonuses arn't bad either doing for BC, what HACs did for cruisers. With the skills trained up high enough, you shopuld come close to riviling the kind of damage a BS can do.
The downside? you need racial cruiser 5, BC 5, Squadron command 5, HAC 4. plus all the other thingas you need to train those skills, your looking at at 5 months+ (imho) before you can even pilot one. the price is gona be another matter as well. think HACs are over priced? well....

The Capital Ships

Where Cold War gave us the Dreadnoughts and the Freighters, RMR brings the Carriers, The Motherships, and The Titans.

Carriers and Motherships are basicially huge fleet support ships. With an enourmous drone bay and the Xlarge support modules (shield, armor, energy transfer), the ship maintance arrays (motherships only) and the corporate hanger array (again, motherships only) these are gona help to define large scale combat again.

Titans, as rumour, discussed, wispered and shown, are going to have one uber mega roxxor super dupper super weapon. Stats arn't finished on them, but appart from all the Xlarge weapons and support modules they'll have, they've got this thing. It deals 50,000 damage in a 5000km radius and only takes 15 seconds to charge up and fire. The downside. the amount of fuel it eats is going to be stagering, and you an only fire them every 60 minutes. They're also going to have some kind of cloneing facility, so you can clone jump to one, grab a ship and items out of the ship maintance aray and corp hanger arrays (titans get these as well as the motherships), get super charged with the Xlarge energy transfer arrays, fit up a ship in inutes an return to the frey.

siege warfare is gona get alot more interesting.

Ooh, I like the sound of Interdictors. At last, a use for Destroyers other than as very expensive fireworks.

i wonder if carriers could dock to a mother ship?

imagine the lag

mothership jumps in system, 4 carriers undock, and then start spamming fighters. shudder.

i definately like the sound of t2 dessies tho, maybe a useful thrasher after all!
